Adele stunned fans with a mesmerising evening of entertainment on An Audience with Adele, which aired on ITV on Sunday, November 21.
On the ITV special, she showcased her biggest hits as well as new tracks including Easy on Me from her album, 30. The record talks about life after divorce from her ex-husband Simon Konecki and raising their son, Angelo.
The crowd had a huge range of celebrities in it from David Tennant, and Dua Lipa, to Dawn French and Idris Elba.
Rapper Stormzy could be seen singing along to her hit Someone Like You, while Emma Thompson entertained viewers with her dancing all evening.
In one touching scene, Adele broke down in tears after being surprised by her old school teacher.
And, while an array of movie stars and popular artists were shown, one face was missing from the screens: Adele's mum. The superstar pointed out that her mum didn't "want to be filmed", but who is Adele's mum?
Who is Adele's mum and what does she do for work?
Penny Susan Adkins is a Londoner just like her daughter. She was born in Islington, North London in 1968.
Penny became pregnant with Adele at the age of just 18 and it is reported that she was planning on applying to university at this stage, but gave it up to look after her daughter. Penny worked in a range of jobs including as a masseuse and a furniture maker.
Adele previously said: "She fell pregnant with me when she would have been applying for uni, but chose to have me instead. She never, ever reminds me of that. I will try to remember it."
The two lived together in a flat in West Norwood, London. In 2013, Adele bought penny a £600,000 house in Notting Hill as a thank you for her sacrifices.
To British Vogue, Adele said: "In fact, this house always gets spoken about in the press as if it was like really run down and stuff because it was above what became a discount store and all of our little roof terraces were all linked.
"And it was amazing, we had a young family at the end with these three lovely little boys who used to run up and down in their nappies, and I feel like one of them made a big Eton mess one day and brought it out. So, I reckon I was probably like a teenager."
Does Adele have any siblings?
Adele does not have any siblings and this is perhaps due to the reported difficulties in the relationship between Penny and Adele's father, Mark.
Penny and Mark were together for nine months after Adele's birth until they separated.
Adele's relationship with her father, who died earlier this year from bowel cancer, was strained and Mark reportedly suffered with alcohol addiction.
"I was putting away two litres of vodka and seven or eight pints of Stella every day. I drank like that for three years. God only knows how I survived it," Mark told The Sun.
Despite this, Adele revealed they had made peace with each other before he died.
"We found our peace together, and then I played the album to him on Zoom," she said.
