Who is 070 Shake, a.k.a. Lily-Rose Depp's other half?

070 Shake performs during the 2023 Governors Ball Music Festival at Flushing Meadows Corona Park on June 09, 2023 in New York City

Lily-Rose Depp's dating life with 070 Shake is heating up, as evidenced by PDA paparazzi pictures and declarations of love on Instagram. However, fans are curious to learn more about the rapper that Depp has called the "love of my life."

Right now, The Idol controversy and LRD's depiction of Jocelyn, an emotionally damaged pop star trying to make a comeback, has definitely stolen the spotlight, but it's safe to say that bystanders are taking as much interest in the actress's personal life as her professional roles, though she tends to keep things somewhat quiet.

For more on 070 Shake, her background and what's next for the artist, we'll fill you in.

Who is 070 Shake, Lily-Rose Depp's girlfriend?

Born Danielle Balbuena, the New Jersey native is a 26-year-old rapper with two albums under her belt and appearances on Kanye West's “Ghost Town” and “Violent Crimes,” both of which are featured in 2018's Ye. Plus, she's also collaborated with artists like Madonna and Lil Yachty and performed at Coachella in 2023. The genre-bending newcomer says her influences range from Alicia Keys to Kid Cudi and cites The Weeknd's "Beauty Behind the Madness" tour as her first concert. (Coincidentally, The Weeknd is Depp's co-star in The Idol.)

Before her music took off, 070 Shake told Pitchfork: "I didn’t ever ‘get into poetry’; I just was poetry." Her roots are still evident in her lyrics and her music's maturity, which Billboard refers to as "vibe-fueled production and emotionally complex lyricism." Now that she's amassed a strong following she hopes that her art will be a unifier.

"My whole message is that I want to bring people together,” she told i-D. “It’s possible to unify people and we’re more powerful that way. So if I have the ability to do that, and to influence people in a positive way, I will.”

Her latest album, You Can't Kill Me, is a reminder that "regardless of what happens on Earth we are infinite," she told Billboard.

“With each album, it’s like you’re being revealed more and more. You Can't Kill Me shows how dedicated I am to being free within music,” she said in a statement. “Feeling is the biggest ingredient of my music.”

Why is 070 Shake called 070 Shake?

It all stems back to her Jersey roots while in the musical collective 070, a play on the North Bergen area's zip codes.

What is 070 Shake's pronouns?

070 Shake uses she/her pronouns but noted in her interview with Pitchfork that her sexual orientation often made her feel isolated growing up, and caused a rift between her and her mother, who came to the U.S. by way of the Dominican Republic.

"I was gay—still am, going strong—and she wasn’t f***ing with that,” the performer told the outlet. “My whole life I was hiding because I was scared as hell. I was tomboyish, and she would say things like, ‘I rather you be in jail than be gay.’ That was the mindset that was imprinted on her.”

Who is 070 Shake touring with?

Beginning in early July 2023, 070 Shake will be European-bound for her tour, which includes pitstops in Denmark, France and Spain, to name just a few. Come September, she'll join Coldplay for their "Music of the Spheres" world tour. Check out the full list of shows on her website

What is 070 Shake's dating history?

Though she is currently tied to Depp and has been with the actress for six months or so, 070 Shake was previously spotted with fellow musician Kehlani in 2021 and Sophia Diana Lodato from 2017 to 2021.
