The White Lotus Season Three finale explained
Who died in The White Lotus Season three finale?
TL;DR, The folks who were killed in the season three finale of The White Lotus included:
- Rick Hatchett (played by Walton Goggins)
- Jim Hollinger (played by Scott Glenn)
- Chelsea (portrayed by Aimee Lou Wood)
- Jim’s bodyguards
Why did Rick, Jim and Chelsea die?
Remember that shootout that was teased in the first episode? Well, it turns out this trio, plus their bodyguards, are the ones who are killed in the crossfire.
You see, things seemed to be going swell for Rick and Chelsea at the start of the episode. But unfortunately, their moment of peace was cut short after Jim — the man who Rick believed to have killed his father — returned to The White Lotus.
After a mini verbal scrap, Rick shot Jim dead in a furious rage.
However, in a major plot twist, it was revealed that Jim was actually Rick’s daddy.
Following the big reveal, Jim’s bodyguards came in guns blazing after Rick. Although the Rick was able to slay the bodyguards, he realises that his boo thang Chelsea had been shot.
Following the violent shoot-out, Sritala (played by Patravadi Mejudhon) — Jim’s wife and owner of The White Lotus — ordered Gaitok (portrayed by Tayme Thapthimthong) to kill Rick.
Gaitok obliges and shoots Rick dead.

Fans weren’t too pleased with the death of Chelsea, despite many theories and Easter eggs hinting towards her demise.

What happened to the Ratliff family?
How could we forget the broke, incestual, big peen fam, right?
10 minutes into the episode, it was teased that Lochlan (played by Sam Nivola) was going to die.
You see, it’s no secret that the family patriarch, Timothy (Jason Isaacs), was going through it when it came to their finances and their legal issues.
In the finale, Timothy almost commits a murder suicide by mixing suicide fruit seeds into pina coladas (yum yum) that he planned to serve to his wife Victoria (portrayed by Parker Posey), Saxon (Patrick Schwazrenegger) and Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook). Lochlan was the only one to be spared from the poisoned bevvies.
However, Timothy yanks back the drinks, preventing another couple of deaths at The White Lotus.
But of course, shit hits the fan the next morning when Lochlan drinks a smoothie with traces of the suicide fruit, causing him to vomit and collapse.
Thankfully for the Ratliff’s, Lochlan is resurrected and wakes up in the arms of Timothy.

The family end up going back home to bask in their brokenness. OOPSIES.
We were robbed from seeing Victoria's reaction to her finding out she's broke. We deserved one more classic scene! #TheWhiteLotus #WhiteLotus pic.twitter.com/m3TfeT75Zt

WELP. There you have it. Honestly, I wish Jennifer Coolidge made a cameo as some kind of ghost during Loclan’s near-death experience, but hey.
Fingers crossed, she returns somehow for season four, whenever that comes out.
The White Lotus Season Three is out now on Binge.
