Who died in Emmerdale? Meen's murder victim confirmed as actor speaks out on exit

Emmerdale fans have been waiting to find out who Meena Julta's first victim will be in the Dales.

And the big reveal finally happened in tonight's double bill - and this is your SPOILER'S AHEAD warning.

Fans of the ITV soap were left on a bit of a cliffhanger on Tuesday night when a erratic Meena was desperately searching for Leanna Cavanagh.

Meena's sister Manpreet had taken a backpack that she had some personal possessions hidden in - inclduing the Pride tin she stole from The Hop to frame Jacob Gallagher - to give to Leanna who was heading off on her travels.

But ahead of her 18th birthday party, Meena let herself in to the home Leanna shared with dad Liam, giving the teen a fright as she appeared in her bedroom.

Meena demanded that Leanne hand over the rucksack.

The pair soon end up on the humpbacked bridge and in shocking scenes, Meena murdered Leanna by pushing her over the bridge.

In Friday's episode, Leanna's lifeless body will be discovered in the stream tearing families apart and sending shockwaves through the village.

Mimi Slinger, who plays Leanna, has now spoken out on her unfortunate end.

"I had taken the decision to leave the Dales and I was so looking forward to hearing how the producers were going to engineer my exit," the actress said when asked how she reacted to the news of what Leanna’s fate would be.

"When Jane Hudson told me about my storyline, I have to say that I was shocked but so excited to be given the opportunity to be challenged and show my acting abilities.

"Of course, it is a very sad storyline and has been very emotional for me!"

After more than three years on the soap, Mimi decided to bow out but she has nothing but praise for the team.

"I have absolutely loved playing Leanna," she said. "I can’t believe it’s been 3 and a half years - it has flown by! I have had the most amazing experiences and have learnt so much from some incredibly talented actors, directors and producers."

And she's already missing her cast mates.

"I am going to miss my Emmerdale family so much," Mimi said. "Actually, I am missing them already.

"I filmed my final scenes at the end of May, so it feels like quite a while since I last saw them. It is emotional to watch the build up to the storyline.

"Jonny (Liam) has taught me so much and I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him and Roxy (Layla), as well as others.

"I have built some amazing friendships, for example with Daisy (Amelia) and Rosie (Gabby). I know that, even though I am moving on, my friendships are here to stay."
