Who could Man City face in Champions League last-16 draw? PSG and possible knockout stage opponents today

Manchester City continue their quest for a first Champions League title as they await their last-16 fate this morning.

After topping their group, Pep Guardiola’s side have earned a seeding for Monday’s draw - keeping them away from their fellow group winners.

However, Paris Saint-Germain, last year’s Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt and Serie A champions AC Milan are all potential opponents. The easier draw, on paper at least, appears to be Club Brugge.

Who can Manchester City face in the Champions League last-16?

Teams from the same country and group are ruled out for this stage of the competition - but not from the quarter-finals onwards.

So Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool will not be handed to Guardiola & Co.

However, plenty of decent teams finished as runners-up in the group stage...

Man City’s possible last-16 opponents: Eintracht Frankfurt, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, AC Milan, RB Leipzig, Club Brugge.

When is the Champions League last-16 draw?

UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland will host the draw for the Champions League last-16 round.

The ceremony will start at 11am GMT on Monday, November 7, 2022.
