Chelsea could potentially land a very difficult task in today’s Champions League last-16 draw.
After an initial defeat in Zagreb that cost Thomas Tuchel his job coupled with a disappointing home draw against RB Salzburg in successor Graham Potter’s first game in charge, the Blues rattled off five consecutive victories - including brushing aside Serie A champions AC Milan home and away - to clinch top spot in Group E with a match to spare.
As such, Chelsea have earned a seeding for the Nyon draw, meaning they will face a group-stage runner-up and be at home for the second leg.

Who could Chelsea face in Champions League last-16?
Chelsea finished top of Group E, meaning they cannot be paired with any other group winners in the last-16.
Instead, their next opponents will be drawn from the sides that went through as runners-up from their respective groups.
However, at this stage teams cannot be drawn against sides that were in their group or indeed clubs from the same country, meaning Chelsea will not face Milan or Liverpool.
But as you’ll see below some potentially very difficult tests still loom, with Paris Saint-Germain lurking as a particular menace after being dramatically pipped to top spot in Group H by Benfica.

When is the Champions League last-16 draw?
The draw for the last-16 of this year’s Champions League takes place at 11am GMT on Monday, November 7, 2022.
It will be conducted as usual at the House of European Football at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
