The draw for the Europa League league stage takes place today as Tottenham await their fate in the newly-revamped competition.
After two seasons away from UEFA’s second-tier competition, Spurs will enter the 36-team league to play eight games, four at home and four away, against a wide variety of opponents.
Friday’s lunchtime Europa League draw will be semi-automated but still features Tottenham being drawn out of a hat to learn which far reaches of the continent they are destined for.

Spurs will be in Pot 1 with top seeding for the draw, owing to their superior UEFA coefficient ranking.
Who can Tottenham face in the Europa League draw?
Spurs will be drawn against two teams from each pot, including their own Pot 1.
They cannot face English opponents (Manchester United) and can only play a maximum of two teams from one other nation.
