Foo Fighters icon Dave Grohl has revealed he has fathered a secret child outside his marriage to Jordyn Blum.
The former Nirvana drummer has gone public about his baby daughter outside of wedlock.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday night, the rock legend said: "I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage.
“I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness."
He added: "We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together. Dave."
Grohl and Blum have been married since 2003.
After his time in Nirvana came to an end in 1993 with the death of Kurt Cobain, Grohl went on to form Foo Fighters and has scored a number of chart-topping albums including their most recent effort, 2023’s But Here We Are.
In addition, he has often labelled himself as a family man, noting he hates to spend time away from his family while touring.
The 55-year-old, who was widely considered one of the nicest men in rock and roll, has three children with Blum but these revelations could hurt his personal brand.

Who is Jordyn Blum?
The pair have been married since 2003 and share three children. She is his second wife, as the musician was previously married to photographer Jennifer Youngblood from 1994 to 1997.
Grohl and Blum reportedly met in a whiskey bar and Blum previously worked as a producer for MTV. She co-directed the Foo Fighter's 2002 music video for Walking the Line and also made a cameo in the music video for the band's 2011 single White Limo.
It is said Blum has been the inspiration for many of Grohl's songs, including Foo Fighter's 2002 track Burn Away.
The pair celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary this year.
How many children do they have?
The married couple share three children, all girls:
Violet
Violet is the eldest daughter at 18 and is known among fans for following in Grohl’s footsteps as a singer. Violet has appeared with the Foo Fighters and featured on their 2023 single Show Me How at Glastonbury.
“My favourite singer in the world," Grohl said, as Violet appeared onstage. "This is a song I wrote for my mother, Violet’s grandmother. This is Show Me How."
Grohl yelled “That’s my girl!” as the father-daughter duo finished the song. “I love it when you’re on stage with your daughter and you hit a bad note," he also joked.
It has been reported that Violet has since deactivated her social media accounts in the wake of the news of her dad fathering another child.
Harper
Harper is the middle child and is 15 years old. Dave Grohl was 40 when she was born and, according to a statement made at the time of her birth, Harper was named after Grohl’s great uncle, Harper Bonebrake. They described her as “7 lbs 8oz, 20 inches long and loud as hell”.
In October 2021, Grohl hinted at Harper's musical interests while in the UK on the Graham Norton Show when he told the tale of his daughter playing piano with Paul McCartney.
He said: “[Harper had] never taken a lesson to play any instrument at that point, and she sat down and she watched his hands. They sat together, and he was showing her what to play, and they wrote a song together.”
Harper also appears to have taken down her Instagram following the news.
Ophelia
Ophelia is 10 years old. She has also been in the spotlight, and has appeared at awards shows alongside her family.
Grohl also appeared in a kids’ tv show alongside Ophelia when she was five and played the role of a super fan on the Nick Jr. preschool series Ryan's Mystery Playdate.
He has spoken since her birth about how he has changed since becoming a dad.
He said: “"I used to tour nine months out of the year. Now I don't like being away from my kids for more than 12 days. It's changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It's inevitable that that would make its way into your song-writing."
