A teen from Whitley Bay who has overcome his ADHD and autism, now has a successful photography and social media business at just 17 years old.
Adam Henderson found a passion for photography when he was given his first camera aged eight, starting his own business at just 10 years old, and things kept improving from there.
He started with a market stall and was able to sell his work in the form of prints, coasters, key-rings and calendars, enjoying quite a lot of success in the years that followed.

Last year, Adam decided to shift the focus of his business towards social media, as it is something he has always had an interest in. He now offers services such as bespoke logos, and website/social media management.
Adam is also recognised on a local level, sharing his story on the radio and being invited to speak at St James' Park by the Prince's Trust and the Newcastle United Foundation.
He has spoken about his struggles fitting in with other people when he was young, and how photography and theatre have helped him since then, as well as looking to the future and what is next for him.
"After my diagnosis of ADHD and autism, I found it hard to fit in with other people at school and in other social situations. Children can be very judgemental and I felt like I had to change a bit to get people to like me. It wasn't until I joined True Colours theatre group and started photography that I felt more normal.
"Both of these passions of mine have been great for my confidence and work ethic, giving me the skills to start my own business and make it as successful as I can. I'd like to thank my mam, dad and sister, Alisar from True Colours, and all of my family and friends for their support.
"I hope in the near future to continue to expand my social media business and to take on new clients. My main goal however is to show people like me that they can achieve anything they want if they put their mind to it, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for me now."
