A well-loved seafront clock has been sent to a specialist firm for repairs after it was damaged during Storm Arwen.
Grant’s Clock, which has been on the walkway above Whitley Bay promenade, for over 80 years, was among the structures that took a battering from the ferocious winds in November.
The clock face was broken and knocked off the top of the column. However the dislodged piece was located and put in safe storage after the storm.

Now North Tyneside Council has confirmed that the clock has been sent away to a specialist company, Smith of Derby, for repairs to be carried out.
The team is aiming to have it restored and reinstated by the end of April.
The work to fix the piece, which suffered significant damage, is expected to cost around £15,000.
The iconic structure, opposite the old Rex hotel, was often called the "little sister to the lighthouse".
It dates back to 1933 and a few years ago it was repainted in the traditional Whitley Bay colours of blue and green as part of a council regeneration programme.
The column was among scores of structures damaged during Storm Arwen.
Numerous buildings and homes across the North East were hit and there was widespread disruption on the roads and to power supplies.
