White Moose Cafe owner claiming to sell 'cheapest coffee in Ireland'

The White Moose Cafe owner is claiming to sell the 'cheapest coffee in Ireland' at a food stall in Glasnevin.

Paul Stenson, who is known for his outspoken commentary on social media, has also set up a food stall called Just Coffee. It began trading this morning on Slaney Road in Glasnevin and is the same coffee served on the White Moose Café premises.

Customers can purchase any coffee, including lattes, cappuccinos and americanos, for the same price of €2. Paul remarked that he was one of a select few business owners offering customers reduced prices during the cost of living crisis.

He wrote on Twitter: “In a time when costs have gone mental, we have gone even more mental with our prices. When everything else is going up in price, we are going down. All coffees at €2.

“The price the customer must pay is not only the €2 but the lack of availability of anything else. Is this a big deal though? I don’t think so. Our reports would suggest that when folk buy coffee, most of the time it’s just that. Just coffee.”

Paul also owns the Charleville Lodge, a hotel located above the well-known White Moose on the North Circular Road. He previously shared cheeky no nonsense instructions for his hotel guests to social media, which included a warning that high maintenance guests would not be tolerated in the budget accommodation.

The news comes as many businesses are forced to increase their prices as a result of inflation. Several restaurants and cafés have closed across Dublin in recent weeks, including the 3 decades old Monk's Green Cafe in Phibsboro.
