She dismissed these videos as misleading and accused the Republican Party of distorting the facts to manipulate public perception.
Referring to the videos as 'deepfakes,' Jean-Pierre expressed frustration at the focus on fabricated content rather than the president's actual accomplishments and policy initiatives. She clarified her use of the term 'deepfakes' afterward, indicating that she meant to say 'cheap fakes,' which are altered recordings intended to deceive viewers.
Despite declining to delve into specifics about Biden's debate preparations, Jean-Pierre emphasized the president's commitment to addressing substantive issues and contrasting his agenda with that of 'extreme Republicans.' Biden is slated to participate in a debate on June 27, hosted by CNN, marking an early engagement in the general election cycle.
