The White House recently addressed criticism regarding the lack of FBI experience of Dan Bongino, the agency's new deputy director. Despite not having a background in the FBI, the White House defended Bongino by emphasizing his understanding of the corruption within various institutions.
Traditionally, the role of overseeing the FBI's day-to-day operations is held by a career FBI agent. Bongino, known for his work in the Secret Service and as a right-wing podcaster, lacks direct experience within the FBI.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt praised Bongino as a patriotic individual who has served the country honorably in different capacities. She highlighted his status as an outsider to the Washington political landscape, suggesting that his appointment has made some individuals uneasy.
Leavitt further emphasized that Bongino, along with others like Kash Patel and Attorney General Bondi, are committed to addressing corruption within government agencies and putting an end to the misuse of governmental power.
