Emergency services rushed to a crash involving a cyclist and a lorry in south Bristol this morning (November 16). The police were called to Whitchurch Lane, in Hengrove, shortly after 8am.
The force were joined by fire crews from Temple, Avonmouth and Bedminster at around 8.15am. As of 11.15am, Whitchurch Lane remained closed as the scene is made safe.
The closure has caused disruption for motorists trying to reach South Bristol Hospital. The police say a diversion is in place through The Bottle Yard Studios.

Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to Whitchurch Lane, in Hengrove, Bristol at 8.05am today (Wednesday 16 November) following reports of a serious road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a lorry.
"The road has been closed and diversions put in place. Those needing to access the community hospital on the estate can do so through The Bottle Yard Studios and should speak to an officer on the gate."
Avon Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from Temple, Avonmouth and Bedminster were called at 08:16 to reports of a road traffic collision on the junction of The Boulevard and Whitchurch Lane, Hengrove.
"We’re working with our police and ambulance colleagues to make the scene safe. Whitchurch Lane is currently closed for traffic.”
