Whisky tasting is on the rise, with trends showing a rise in searches for those wanting to sample a tipple. And whether you fancy a single malt, or if it has to be a Scotch, can leave drinkers bickering over what's best.
But now one luxury whisky brand is taking on applications for its next official tester. Stravaig Spirits will give the lucky candidate a number of samples over a six-month period that will be used for its 2023 bottling selection.
The Edinburgh-based wants to find someone who will help combine its drinks with food pairings while providing reviews of the samples. The ideal candidate will have to be a fan of whisky as they will have to judge the drinks based on smell, finish, flavours, and possible pairings.
The unpaid job is live now. And candidates have until January 27 to say why they feel they would be the perfect whisky taster.
To enter, you must fill in the application form, providing your full name, age, contact details, and why you would be the perfect candidate for the role. Full entry requirements for the role can be found here.
Co-founder of Stravaig Spirits, Ola Lopatowska, said: “We’re so excited to be opening up this role and beginning the search for our newest employee. So much time and care goes into each of our Tri Carragh bottles, we always want to create the best product we can, so receiving reviews from a true whisky lover will be instrumental in our product development in the future.
“Having a taste tester will allow us to get the perfect description of our bottles. If you’re a whisky enthusiast, who thinks you’ll be ideal for this role, please send in your application. Good luck.”
