The cold weather spell is set to continue across the UK.
Some schools were closed on Thursday and remain closed on Friday, due to the wintry weather, while others opened late.
Schools in Cornwall and County Durham appear to be worst affected today (December 1), with one school also closed in Gloucestershire.
Parts of the UK could see 5cm of snow on Friday with temperatures expected to drop as low as -10°C in some areas.
A yellow weather warning for snow and ice will also remain in place on Friday for the eastern coast of the UK, stretching from Scotland to East Anglia. Ice warnings remain in place for Northern Ireland and south-west England.
