The Boston Celtics summer league team has fallen to successive defeats. Fortunately, off-season action is about development and improvement rather than wins or losses. Nevertheless, there have been some members of Boston’s summer rotation that have caught the eye. Jay Scrubb looks like a potential microwave scorer at the next level. Justin Bean has impressed as the steady hand in the rotation.
While JD Davison has already inked a new two way deal ahead of next season, and Jordan Walsh is already looking better than advertised. Then we have Justin Champagnie, who will start the new season with a non-guaranteed contract, and Olek Balcerowksi, who is impressive with his mobility and occasional perimeter bucket.

They also discuss the Grant Williams trade and try to find a silver lining before questioning whether Walsh, Oshae Brissett, or Dalano Banton can replace him. Williams was traded to the Dallas Mavericks as part of a three-team deal after the Celtics decided not to match their offer sheet.
There will likely need to be a discussion regarding Boston’s offseason before the start of training camp, as there is a potential that the team has raised its ceiling but also lowered its floor. Of course, there is still time for Brad Stevens to make more moves to round out the team’s rotation.
