Which cinemas and parks will screen the Queen’s funeral for free across London?

People across London will be able to watch The Queen’s state funeral at a screening site or cinema.

The public can’t attend the funeral. Only the 2,000 heads of state, dignitaries, European royals, and other key figures specifically invited will be allowed into the abbey.

But the funeral will air live on the BBC and will be available on BBC iPlayer, too.

Well-wishers can watch the funeral at a screening site in central London and at select cinemas.

Which cinemas will be open?

The majority of the UK’s cinema chains plan to close on Monday, but a select few will remain open.

Curzon, Vue, and Arc have all confirmed they will show Her Majesty’s state funeral live on Monday, September 19, at a select number of venues.

Arc said in a statement on Twitter: “We have decided to screen Her Majesty The Queen’s state funeral on Bank Holiday Monday, September 19, at 11am.

“This is a free event but pre-booking your seat is essential. There will be no other shows taking place while the funeral is broadcast.”

Which park will have a screening site?

The Queen’s state funeral will be broadcast live at Hyde Park.

The site will open at 11am, with people admitted in order of arrival time. It is expected to get very busy.

Recommended access to the screening site is from the north side of Hyde Park, from Marlborough Gate to Marble Arch.

Follow the signs showing the walking route or ask stewards and police, who will direct you to the screening site.

There is a dedicated area for people with accessibility requirements.

At the time of writing, Hyde Park is the only spot confirmed to have a screening site in London.

More screen sites could become available closer to the day of the funeral.
