As the US election gets ever closer, Kamala Harris’s list of celebrity backers has kept growing.
Jennifer Lopez is the latest big name to support the vice-president and her running mate, Tim Walz.
The singer, 55, backed the Democrat candidate when she appeared at a rally in Las Vegas on Thursday October 31.
Ms Harris and Mr Walz are up against former president Donald Trump, who hopes to return to the White House for a second, non-consecutive term, and his VP candidate, JD Vance.
From Hollywood A-listers to political and pop royalty, here are the celebrities who have backed Ms Harris before the November 5 election.
Jennifer Lopez
After Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage” at a Trump rally in New York, singer and actress Lopez has stood up for Puerto Ricans.
Walking out to her song Let's Get Loud at a Las Vegas rally in support of Ms Harris, Lopez gave a tearful 13-minute statement on “the most important stage I've ever been on”.
“I am Puerto Rican. And yes I was born here and we are Americans,” she said.
“I am a mother, I am a sister I am an actor and an entertainer and I like Hollywood. I like when the good guy or in this case the good girl wins.
“And with an understanding of our past and a faith in our future, I will be casting my ballot for Kamala Harris for president of the United States proudly.”
She added: “You can't even spell American without Rican," she said. "This is our country too.”
Beyoncé
Beyoncé allowed Ms Harris to use her hit song Freedom as the anthem for her 2024 presidential campaign.
Ms Harris made a dramatic entrance at her rebranded campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware in July. She walked out to the powerful track from the Texas singer’s 2016 album Lemonade.
Beyoncé then made an impassioned speech at the October 25 rally.
“I’m not here as a celebrity, I’m not here as a politician,” she said. “I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we’re not divided.
“Imagine our daughters growing up seeing what’s possible with no ceilings, no limitations. We must vote and we need you.”
Oprah Winfrey
Oprah Winfrey was one of the earliest celebrities to endorse Ms Harris.
The 70-year-old spoke at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago in August, making the case for uniting as Americans and upholding democracy.
“Soon, and very soon, we’re going to be teaching our daughters and sons about how this child of an Indian mother and a Jamaican father – two idealistic, energetic immigrants– how this child grew up to become the 47th president of the United States.”
Usher
R&B artist Usher praised Ms Harris as a leader of the new generation and took pleasure in her dedication to equality and freedom for all during a rally in Atlanta.
After dancing out on to the stage in October, he said: “We have the opportunity to choose a new generation of leadership for our country.
“We’re here to support the next president of the United States: Kamala, Kamala Harris, ladies and gentlemen.”
Eminem
Former US president Barack Obama rapped the words to Eminem’s 2002 track Lose Yourself after the rapper introduced him at a rally in Detroit on October 23.
The Grammy winner appeared on stage to support Ms Harris, making a short speech about the importance of freedom of speech, before introducing Mr Obama.
Eminem told the rally that he was at the event “for a couple of important reasons”.
“As most of you know, the city of Detroit and the whole state of Michigan mean a lot to me,” the 52-year-old said.
“And going into this election, the spotlight is on us more than ever, and I think it’s important to use your voice. So I’m encouraging everybody to go out and vote, please.
“I also think people shouldn’t be afraid to express their opinions, and I don’t think anyone wants an America where people are worried about retribution, of what people will do if you make your opinion known.
“I think Vice President Harris supports a future for this country where these freedoms and many others will be protected and upheld.”
Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift publicly revealed who she would vote for after Ms Harris and Mr Trump’s televised debate in September.
The Look What You Made Me Do singer told her followers she had tuned in to the debate to learn more about what the two presidential hopefuls would offer the country.
Shortly afterwards, she announced her political allegiance: she would vote for Ms Harris.
In her lengthy social media post, Swift explained that she had decided to make her voting decisions public after a fake AI post suggested that she was endorsing Mr Trump.
“It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter,” she said. “The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election.”
The pop star praised Ms Harris and her running mate and encouraged her followers to register to vote.
She also signed off with “Taylor Swift, Childless Cat Lady,” in an apparent swipe at Republican VP hopeful Mr Vance’s critical remarks about women.
Celebrity endorsements don’t normally have a massive impact on the presidential race but some experts believe that Swift’s backing could be a watershed moment.
Cher
American singer, actress, and television personality Cher boldly declared that Ms Harris "will fight to protect our rights" when endorsing her for the nation's top position.
The singer said in a clip on her social media on October 18: “I have followed Kamala Harris since she was my US senator. She fought for me then and she is fighting for all of us now.
“That’s why I am proudly voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. I know they will fight to protect our rights and I’m grateful to be able to make my voice count this year.”

Bruce Springsteen
Legendary US singer Bruce Springsteen endorsed Ms Harris only weeks after Swift shared her support.
The 75-year-old rocker labelled Mr Trump “the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime” and added: “His disdain for the sanctity of our constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of president ever again.”
In his video, shared on Instagram, the Boss said Ms Harris and her running mate Mr Walz had pledged a vision of the country that “respects and includes everyone”.
He continued: “And they want to grow our economy in a way that benefits all, not just a few like me on top.
“That’s the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years.”
Billie Eilish and Finneas
In a combined video for National Voter Registration Day in September, the Grammy and Oscar-winning brother-sister duo urged their followers to vote for Ms Harris. They hailed her for boosting access to reproductive care and denounced "extremists" on the opposing side as a threat to democracy.
John Legend
Musician John Legend performed in Chicago during the DNC in August and is a vocal supporter of the Democrats and Ms Harris.
In a lengthy social media post, Legend wrote: "I'm so ready to work to help unite the pro-democracy coalition to reject Trump's authoritarian, oppressive Project 2025 and elect Kamala Harris as our President."
The 12-time Grammy Award-winner added: "She's ready for this fight and I'm excited to help her in any way I can."
He has also said that his eldest daughter Luna looks up to Ms Harris. Legend told the Hollywood Reporter: “[Luna] is so excited to see someone who’s black and Asian like she is, [and] a woman like she is – so she’s looking at [Kamala] like, ‘This is me’ up there.”
Megan Thee Stallion
Rapper Megan Thee Stallion performed at Ms Harris’s campaign rally in Atlanta in July and has consistently supported her.
She has featured Ms Harris on her social media and encouraged women to vote for the Democratic hopeful.
“Kamala said she wants a ceasefire, Kamala said she supports women’s rights. And she said she’s tired of those high-ass gas prices … It’s Hotties for Harris, goddammit,” she said.
The Obamas
Barack and Michelle Obama have also switched their support from President Joe Biden to Ms Harris. Mr Obama gave an impassioned speech on day two of the DNC on August 20, urging voters to back Ms Harris in the upcoming election.
“In this new economy, we need a president who actually cares about the millions of people all across this country who wake up every day to do the essential, often thankless work to care for our sick and clean our streets and deliver our packages – and stand up for their right to bargain for better wages and working conditions,” Mr Obama said. “Kamala will be that president.”
George Clooney
Before Ms Harris received the party’s nomination, actor George Clooney penned an op-ed in which he implored Mr Biden to step down and allow someone else to run for the presidency. Not long after this, Mr Biden confirmed his departure and all eyes turned to the likelihood of Ms Harris assuming the role.
Clooney praised Mr Biden and voiced his support for Ms Harris as she embarked on her campaign.
“President Biden has shown what true leadership is,” he said in July. “He’s saving democracy once again. We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest.”
Ariana Grande
While singer-songwriter Grande hasn’t been too open about her political views, she has supported Democratic causes in the past.
When Mr Biden confirmed he wasn’t seeking re-election, Grande re-shared his message of endorsement on social media in apparent support.
The post read: “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats – it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”
Charli XCX
British pop icon Chari XCX took to social media after Ms Harris announced her presidential bid, writing a post that captured the essence of the Democrats’ campaign.
“Kamala IS brat,” the singer said in apparent support for Ms Harris.
Ms Harris’s campaign then changed the colour of its social media background to brat green, apparently acknowledging the star’s endorsement and message.
Other celebrity endorsements
Several other stars have voiced their support for Ms Harris.
These include Bad Bunny, Jamie Lee Curtis, Olivia Rodrigo, Barbra Streisand, Spike Lee, Cardi B, Katy Perry and Kesha.
