Millions aren't just watching the game but also lacing up their boots to take a part in the infamous gridiron on this side of the pond. But for those who are looking to scratch that itch, where exactly can you play American football in Greater Manchester?
Manchester Titans
Based at the Belle Vue Stadium, the Manchester Titans are the pride of American football in the city. Founded in 2003, the team made history last year when they were crowned the Britbowl Champions which is the country’s equivalent to the Super Bowl.
The Titans defeated the London Warriors 37-7 at the New River Stadium in Tottenham.

Always on the lookout for volunteers coaches and players. There are plenty options available for those interested in playing for the team.
The club has a mixture of flag and contact American football teams including an under-11s flag football team, under 14s flag football team an adult mixed flag football team and women’s only flag football team.
Their contact teams begin at under 16 contact team, under 19s along with the women’s contact team and men’s contact team who are the current champions.
Speaking to the MEN about new starters, Manchester Titans chairman, Liam Twigg said: “You can be really small or really or tall. Realistically any body type and any type of skill set can come in and find a position that they do.
"We have professional kickers in our team, so anybody can come in and find position that fits their skills and body types.
“If someone is looking to start you probably better to start at a lower level, get some skill, knowledge and experience and if you’re better try out for other teams.”

The Manchester Crows
Founded in 2015, the Manchester Crows are a flag football team based in the city. They play in the North England Conference and train at the David Lewis Sports Ground in Salford.

Leigh Miners American Football Team
Formed in 2020, Leigh Miners AFC was created by general manager James Higham who was inspired after watching Super Bowl 54.
They now play in division two of the British American Association National League. The team are always on the lookout for more players and you can find out how to join here.
The Eagles – Manchester Metropolitan University
University students are in luck when it comes to getting into the sport while living in Manchester. MMU have their own team that plays in the British Universities and Colleges Sport Football league.
A regular season runs between November and March, they train at the Platt Lane Training Complex in Fallowfield and matches are played on Sundays.
