Where was Drake during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show and how did he react?

Kendrick Lamar delivered a blistering set during his headline 2025 Super Bowl’s halftime show, leading many to wonder where Drake was and his reaction.

But the 38-year-old God’s Plan rapper stayed quiet on social media as he prepared to kick off the Melbourne leg of his international Anita Max Wynn tour.

The tour began days after Lamar scored five Grammys from his diss track aimed at Drake called Not Like Us, including awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

The track, which also saw the Compton rapper secure Grammys for Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video, accuses his Canadian friend-turned-rival of paedophilia and sexual misconduct.

Not Like Us was performed on a stage in New Orleans during the Super Bowl LIX, alongside a medley of Lamar's favourites.

After being handed the mic by Samuel L Jackson during the halftime show, the rapper made playful jabs at Drake’s ongoing legal battle with Universal Music Group over the song’s promotion.

“I want to play their favourite song, but you know they like to sue,” Lamar said, before launching into the Not Like Us track and looking into the camera as he name-dropped Drake.

How did Drake react?

Drake has yet to directly address the Super Bowl halftime show, but his silence spoke volumes.

The ‘One Dance’ singer posted a series of images on his Instagram story prior to Lamar’s performance of the Canadian performing on his Australia tour.

However, Drake posted cryptic messages back in September about the news that Lamar had been named as a performer.

Via his Instagram story, he shared five photos of Lil Wayne, who many fans believed deserved the Super Bowl halftime gig, Us Weekly reported.

More recently, during his first show in Australia, the rapper assured fans he was “very much alive”.

Addressing the audience, he said: “My name is Drake. I started doing music in 2008. I come all the way from Toronto, Canada. The year is now 2025 and, no matter what, Drizzy Drake is very much alive and that’s all thanks to you. I love you.”

Tensions between Lamar and Drake escalated last summer when the musicians released multiple diss tracks.
