While tributes continue to be paid from around the world to Olivia Newton-John, many of us look for ways to remember the Australian singer and actress.
The star achieved commercial success as a country singer, with global sales of more than 100 million records.
But it was Olivia’s role as goody-two-shoes Sandy Olsson in the 1978 musical Grease that catapulted her to worldwide fame.
The Randal Kleiser-directed plot saw Sandy attend the same school as her summer fling, Danny Zuko (played by John Travolta), a hot-rodding gangster.
The pair faced high school drama, peer-pressure and cliques, before finally realising it’s each other who they want.
The whole gang sings and dances around Danny and Sandy’s romance, with hit songs ‘Grease Lightnin' and ‘We Go Together'.
The much-loved musical was the biggest box-office hit of 1978, and gave Olivia three hit singles, including Summer Nights and You’re The One That I Want, both performed alongside co-star John Travolta.
