Where to find and open a two lock chest in Fortnite for the weekly quest

One of Fortnite's latest weekly challenges involves players tracking down and opening one of the game's two lock chests, we'll show you how you can do it, and net 24K XP along the way.

Fortnite's latest batch of weekly challenges include a couple of tricky quests to net you some XP; this is on top of some other tricky weekly quests like ones involving the Lock On pistol and lighting campfires. There's also the ongoing Fortnite x Star Wars questline Find the Force, which launched alongside Fortnite Update 24.30 and also hosts a few tricky quests like knocking down Timber Pines and launching Kinetic Ore.

Locked chests were first introduced into Fortnite during Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4, and differentiate themselves from standard chests by, well, being locked. These chests project an image of what is contained within, and require keys to open, they often contain high-quality loot like Epic or Legendary items, as well as exotic items contained within chests with two locks, which is what we'll be looking at today.

Where to find and open a two lock chest in Fortnite

Here's all of the locations of the locked chests in Fortnite (Fortnite.GG)

The two lock chests in Fortnite are scattered all across the map, however each location isn't guaranteed to have one. The good news is that once you find a key, the closest two lock chests will be marked on your mini map with a little lock icon.

Keys can be found within chests, looted off enemy players, or – best of all – through the Keymaster augment which instantly grants you two keys if you're lucky enough to roll it.

The best way to get keys outside of these methods will cost you. There's a bamboo circle northwest of Mega City, where you should find an NPC named CRZ-8. They sell keys which you can buy with gold so it's up to you to decide whether or not to splurge to open the two lock chests or whether you want to try to find them out in the world instead.

The two lock chests in Fortnite are scattered all across the map, so you'll be fine landing anywhere, but in our opinion the best place to land is to the north of the map to the north of Brutal Bastion.

Keep in mind, it isn't a guarantee that a two lock chest will spawn among the locked chest locations, but don't worry you'll never be too far away from another, so if you can't find a two lock chest in one of the chest locations, just check your map and look for the next closest one. Eventually you should find a two lock chest and 24K XP is yours.
