Where to buy RTX 5090, 5080 and 5070 gaming laptops — live updates and stock checker

Stylized Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series laptop graphic.
Find stock in your region

Pre-orders of RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 gaming laptops are now live!

And with Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and the recent RTX 5070 Ti desktop GPUs already making their debut (and selling out just as fast), you best believe that RTX 50-series gaming laptops will be highly in demand too. That's why I'm here to help you secure one.

If you're looking to get your hands on one, pre-ordering is your best bet. Prices for an RTX 5090-equipped laptop start at $2,899, an RTX 5080 from $2,199, RTX 5070 Ti from $1,599 and an RTX 5070 from $1,299. Judging by previous listings, however, expect these prices to jump.

Unlike Nvidia's latest desktop graphics cards, there should be plenty more gaming laptops in stock (and so far, there is!). Still, it's worth nabbing the laptop you want from the get-go. Expect stock from major retailers in the U.S. and the U.K., including from places like Dell itself!

We've rounded up the best places to buy your RTX 50-series gaming laptop of choice, all to make sure you get the chance to place your pre-orders. We'll be updating this live blog with all the latest!

LIVE: LATEST UPDATES

It's the final countdown

Welcome! We’re kicking off this live blog with all the must-watch drops and advice on how to secure yours.

With the launch of the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti GPUs, one thing is clear—demand is sky-high, but supply is tight. Fortunately, the story is different for RTX 50-series gaming laptops, with a variety of configurations already lined up from Acer, Asus, HP, MSI, Razer, and more.

And here’s the big news: pre-orders open in less than an hour at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. GMT! That means this is your last chance to browse, compare models, and bookmark your preferred listing. Be ready to secure your pick the moment the floodgates open!

BREAKING: HP HAS JUMPED THE GUN!

Here we were, thinking that it would be a scramble at 9am ET. But the HP Omen Max 16 with RTX 5080 is already available to preorder at Best Buy — $2.899!

Tip #1: Start refreshing a few minutes before

Anyway, where was I? Oh yes! Advice on how to secure your laptop when the preorders are supposed to go live. The first tip comes from the last time I had to join a rush to buy a laptop. Given the timing of this launch seems particularly strict (though HP clearly didn't get the memo), then the queueing system should start at 9am ET / 6am PT / 2pm GMT on the dot.

If that's the case, it pays to start refreshing the product page of your chosen system a few minutes before — that way you can hopefully be one of the first to see that "coming soon" button change to "add to cart."

Tip #2: Create an account and pre-save your payment details

(Image credit: B&H Photo and video)

All to often I see a lot of people fall at the last hurdle of buying a high-demand product because they didn't set up a store account before.

Whether it's B&H, Best Buy or anyone else, take the time now to setup an account and pre-fill in all your payment and address details. That way, everything is saved and you can just click through all of this — instead of trying to feverishly type it out while the stock drains away.

This is the RTX 5070 Ti laptop I'd buy

RTX 50-series gaming laptops are about to go on sale and Best Buy has quite a few up for pre-order, at a variety of prices.

While the early RTX 5090 models are a bit too pricey for my blood ($4,000 and up), I just found this great 16-inch RTX 5070 Ti gaming laptop from Asus for a cool $1,899!

The RTX 5070 Ti laptop to get in the UK

Meanwhile, you've got a lot of laptops to preorder over on Overclockers in Britain. But one sticks out — the £1,999 Acer Predator Helios 16 AI seems to be the optimal one for value for money while giving you peak performance with that RTX 5070 Ti.

Looking for an RTX 5080 laptop? Here are my best picks

In terms of price-to-performance, one stands out in the US, and one shines in the UK.

Going for the top of the mountain? Here are the RTX 5090 laptops I'd go for first

BREAKING: Nvidia RTX 50-series gaming laptops are official available to preorder

Time to flex those clicking fingers. The RTX 50-series gaming laptops are now available to preorder!

One thing we did see during the RTX 5090 and 5080 chaos is that in the masses of people flocking to buy one, websites will fail to load with the sheer amount of people. So I’ll keep on top of whenever websites are working with stock and keep you posted live, so stick with me here.

In the meantime, try all these links and good luck!

The floodgates have opened over at Newegg too! Every RTX 50-series system is now available.

Asus is also stock the ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 on its own eStore in the UK

Stock is still looking GOOD

Whether it's a lot of stock or people pausing before clicking the button, preorders are still available all over the place!

Of course, people are steering clear of the massively overpriced items, but those that are reasonable like the £1,999 Asus Predator Helios 16 AI in the UK are still going strong.

If we see anything new pop up or if any laptops go out of stock, we'll keep you posted!

RTX 5090 Razer Blade laptops are here!

If you've got the money, then you'll find plenty of RTX 5090-equipped Razer Blade 16 and Blade 18 gaming laptops over at Overclockers UK. And seriously, these are beasts considering the specs.

The lowest price we've seen is this Razer Blade 16 with an RTX 5090 for £3,899 (as I said, if you have the money). It comes with a 16-inch QHD+ 240Hz OLED display, an AMD Ryzen AI R9 370 CPU, 32GB of DDR5X RAM and 2TB SSD. Now that's a powerful machine.

Don't miss the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i

Head over to AntOnline to get yourself a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i gaming laptop with your choice of GPU, ranging from an RTX 5090 to an RTX 5070 Ti. Personally, I've got my sights on this Legion Pro 7i with an RTX 5070 Ti priced at $2,649, as it's a lot more affordable than it's higher-end siblings.

As we've tested, Lenovo's lineup of Legion Pro 7i gaming laptops are great value for money, and now that it sports an RTX 50-series GPU, this new model shoudl definitely be on people's radar.

RTX 5080 gaming laptop stock is still strong at Best Buy!

A few Asus ROG Zephyrus and ROG Strix gaming laptops are "Coming soon" over at Best Buy, but it's still got quite a few laptops worth checking out!

That includes the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 with an RTX 5080, along with the Asus ROG Strix G18 with an RTX 5080. There's also the RGB-lit HP Omen Max 16 with an RTX 5080 GPU!

Hopefully we'll see even more laptops come into stock there soon.

Grab this RTX 5070 Ti gaming laptop with a huge 18-inch display!

Looking for big-screen gaming? It's hard to go wrong with the Asus ROG Strix Scar 18, which our previous reviews note offers a very impressive 18-inch display. With this model delivering an RTX 5070 Ti GPU, you can get this satisfyingly big 18-inch 2560 x 1600 Nebula HDR display with a 240Hz refresh rate for $2,699 at B&H Photo.

Along with its Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD, this gaming laptop is sure to shine, especially if it's anything like its predecessors. Sure, it's not exactly portable, but if you plan on sticking this on your desk, then this isn't a bad shout.

An RTX 5070 Ti gaming laptop for $1,599 is still up for grabs!

Don't let all the $4,000+ RTX 5090 gaming laptops scare you off, as there are other models worth your attention. That includes this MSI Vector 16 HX AI with an RTX 5070 Ti for $1,599 at Newegg, which is the lowest we've seen for this GPU currently. If you're after an upgrade while not putting a major dent in your wallet, this is a great shout.

You'll get the latest Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX CPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD. A 1TB would have been nice, but I'll take what I can get. There's also a 16-inch (1920 x 1200) 240Hz display up top, which is an ideal display to have for gaming on an RTX 50-series GPU. Along with its two Thunderbolt 5 ports and an HDMI 2.1 output, this gaming laptop looks to take you far.

A good time to buy an RTX 40-series laptop

Today is RTX 50-series laptop day but it also means that last-gen laptops will go (or have) gone on sale. While getting the newest tech is always exciting, you might want to consider an RTX 40-series laptop.

Why get an older laptop? Because RTX 40-series laptops like the HP Omen Transcend 14 and Alienware m16 R2 can play modern games without a sweat. And given their power, these laptops will last you for several more years.

Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Norse Myth

Announced during the MSIology Dragonforged Dominance Launch Event, the MSI Titan 18 HX Dragon Edition Norse Myth is arguably the coolest-looking RTX 50-series laptop available. That last part comes with a caveat since this is a limited-edition product.

This laptop's design is inspired by Norse mythology and has a 3D dragon motif that MSI says was created using "advanced metal etching techniques on the lid and a 3D ring on the palm rest area." Each of these laptops is handcrafted and manually polished, giving each a unique look.

Inside, this laptop packs the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 285HX and up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU. This 18-inch monster has the latest PCIe Gen 5 SSD with a dedicated cooling pipe and vapor chamber cooling, along with support for Thunderbolt 5. It features an 18-inch 4K mini LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The MSI RTX 50 Series laptops are now available for pre-order. You can get up to $80 in Steam codes by doing so. For more details, visit: MSI Pre-Order Page.

The updated Asus Zephyrus G14 with RTX 50 inside

We've heaped praise on the Asus Zephyrus line of laptops for years, so we're naturally excited about the latest iteration of the Asus Zephyrus G14.

Featuring an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU, an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX CPU, 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD, this machine has the specs to play almost any modern game at mid to high settings and 1440p resolution. And that power comes in the same elegant design we've come to love about this series.

Though this configuration is pricey, it should be well worth it.

What are you going to play?

When discussing gaming machines, people often forget to discuss the reason they're purchasing them: for the games. Given the promised power of RTX 50-series laptops, some of the best PC games could run better than ever. So, which games should people play first?

I recommend firing up Cyberpunk 2077 first. This is still one of the most demanding PC games and should serve as a decent testbed for RTX features like ray tracing and DLSS. Black Myth Wukong is another demanding game that could shine on RTX 50 laptops, along with Monster Hunter Wilds. And of course, we expect the highly-optimized Doom Eternal to run like a dream on RTX 50 notebooks.

If you decide to get one of the new RTX 50-series laptops, check out some of the games listed above along with your favorites to see what your machine can do.

Big power for big gaming laptops

You might have noticed that many of the RTX 50-series laptops now on sale are 18-inch behemoths from the likes of MSI and Asus. While these notebooks might be too big to comfortably carry around, they make for great desktop replacements.

Thanks to their large size, an 18-inch laptop's equally sizeable display can be every bit as good as a dedicated gaming monitor. You also get more than enough ports for all your peripherals and a spacious keyboard to comfortably type on.

Sure, these big laptops also have big sticker prices, but if you want a competent desktop replacement, you can't go wrong with an 18-inch 50-series laptop.

Stock check: Here's what's still available!

Another day, another round of RTX 50-series gaming laptops to scoop up! Unlike its desktop GPU siblings, there are still plenty of these next-gen gaming notebooks to pre-order, and that includes RTX 5090-equipped rigs and more wallet-friendly RTX 5070 Ti laptops.

Over in the U.S., you'll find an Asus ROG Strix 16 with an RTX 5090 at Newegg up for grabs, along with an MSI Vector 16 HX AI with an RTX 5070 Ti for $1,899. Best Buy doesn't have as many laptops in stock, but you'll still find an HP Omen Max 16 with an RTX 5080 for $2,899.

Heading over to the U.K., there's quite a few laptops worth checking out. You'll find a Razer Blade 16 with an RTX 5070 for £2,499 at Box, while Overclokcers UK has some (pricey) laptops up for grabs, including this Acer Predator Helios 18 AI with an RTX 5090 for £4,999.

Some retailers don't have listings up, but for the ones that do, get shopping and find your next RTX 50-equipped gaming laptop!
