With Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and the recent RTX 5070 Ti desktop GPUs already making their debut (and selling out just as fast), it's now time for RTX 50-series gaming laptops to shine — as pre-orders are kicking off!

You'll find RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 gaming laptops from the likes of Acer, Asus, Dell, MSI, Lenovo and more available to pre-order from February 25 at around 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. GMT.

If you're looking to get your hands on one, pre-ordering is your best bet. Prices for an RTX 5090-equipped laptop start at $2,899, an RTX 5080 from $2,199, RTX 5070 Ti from $1,599 and an RTX 5070 from $1,299. Judging by previous listings, however, expect these prices to jump.

Unlike Nvidia's latest desktop graphics cards, there should be plenty more gaming laptops in stock. Still, it's worth nabbing the laptop you want from the get-go. Expect stock from major retailers in the U.S. and the U.K., including from places like Dell itself!

We've rounded up the best places to buy your RTX 50-series gaming laptop of choice, all to make sure you get the chance to place your pre-orders. We'll be updating this live blog with all the latest!

Let the countdown begin...

Welcome! We're kicking off this live blog with all the places you should keep on your radar.

After the launch of RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti GPUs, two things are clear: many gamers want to get their hands on Nvidia's latest graphics cards, and there's clearly not enough in stock for the masses.

With RTX 50-series gaming laptops, though? It's a different story, as there are many configurations already available from Acer, Asus, HP, MSI, Razer and more at several retailers.

Since pre-orders don't start until February 25 at around 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. GMT, there's still a bit of time before you can land an order. However, now's the time to start searching for the laptop you're after and bookmark the listing page so you can grab it!

How much will next gen Nvidia RTX laptops cost?

RTX 50-series desktop GPUs are already well over Nvidia's asking prices, and it's looking to be the same for its RTX 50-series laptop cards. Of course, you'll have to take into account other specifications, such as the CPU, display, RAM, storage and more, so it hardly comes as surprise we'll see prices go over what we expect.

Here's a quick look at what prices should look like, according to Nvidia:

A taste of RTX 5070-power in a laptop

We went hands-on with the upcoming Acer Predator Helios Neo 16/18 AI, which sports up to an RTX 5070 Ti GPU. We called it a mid-range monster, thanks to its GPU, value for money ($1,899), and gorgeous WQXGA (2560 x 1600) OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate.

We didn't get the chance to see it in proper action, but from the looks of it, it's an RTX 50-series gaming laptop that should be on your radar — especially if it comes to be available for pre-order.

Will RTX 50 laptops be the better choice?

We'll have a better sense of what RTX 50-series laptops can do once we've put them through our slew of benchmarks. However, given the difficulty people are having obtaining an RTX 50-series desktop GPU, choosing a gaming laptop with mobile versions of these graphics cards might not be a bad choice.

Availability of RTX 50 laptops should be greater than it is for the individual RTX 50 cards. And having a machine that's ready to go out of the box instead of having to build an entire PC is also easier, unless you buy a pre-built PC, of course. And depending on the configuration you opt for, an RTX 50-series laptop could cost less than a proper gaming PC.

Though RTX 50 laptops won't be as capable as desktops with RTX 50, being able to play games on notebooks that should be more powerful than last-gen counterparts could be a huge selling point for some.

What to expect from RTX 50-series laptops

The first wave of RTX 50-series laptops will arrive in RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 configurations. These are high-end GPUs, and while we've seen glimpses of other variants, including an RTX 5060 mobile GPU, these heavy hitters will be the first to make their mark. As you might expect, they won't come cheap. Prices range from $1,299 for an RTX 5070 to $2,899 for an RTX 5090 gaming laptop.

These laptops aim to impress, and it has much to do with the graphics cards themselves. Looking at the RTX 5090 laptop GPU, you can expect 1,824 AI TOPS (trillions of operations per second), 10,496 CUDA cores (these act like CPU cores), 24GB of GDDR7 VRAM, along with the rest of Nvidia's slate of features (like DLSS 4, boosted ray tracing and more). Putting this into perspective, an RTX 4090 laptop GPU comes with 686 AI TOPS, 9,728 CUDA cores, 16GB of GDDR6 video memory, and DLSS 4 improvements.

Put simply, this translates to higher graphics power to play the latest demanding PC games with ease. We've already seen Nvidia’s RTX 5090 desktop GPU in action, offering an average 22% improvement, so I'm expecting similar performance gains in the laptop variant — and even bigger performance spikes in supported PC games.

RTX 5070 Ti power for under $2k

RTX 50-series gaming laptops are about to go on sale and Best Buy has quite a few up for pre-order, at a variety of prices.

While the early RTX 5090 models are a bit too pricey for my blood ($4,000 and up), I just found this great 16-inch RTX 5070 Ti gaming laptop from Asus for a cool $1,899!

Make sure you're ready

I expect we'll see RTX 50-series gaming laptops in short supply tomorrow when pre-orders open up, so if you really want one I have a tip for you: take the time now to setup an account and pre-fill in all your payment and address details.

That's because when demand heats up, store websites have a way of slowing down or becoming unstable, so having your account and payment details pre-saved can mean the difference between getting what you want and being stuck out in the cold.

Tuesday is the big day

We're winding this blog down for the day so we can get ready for tomorrow, when the first RTX 50-series gaming laptops are expected to debut from Asus, Lenovo and more at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. GMT Tuesday, February 25th!

To maximize your chances of getting one, here's a tip: log on 30 minutes early and start checking stock at major retailers before the rush is on. We'll be here all day tomorrow giving you the latest updates on where to buy RTX 5090, RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 Ti gaming laptops, but you won't need our help if you wake up early and beat the rush!

Happy RTX 50-Series Laptop day!

Today's the day... Pre-orders are going live of RTX 50-Series laptops! We don't know how much stock there will be, but they're going on sale in a lot of places.

We'll be keeping an eye on these locations and giving you live updates if you're keen to pick one up of your own!

UPDATE: RTX 50-series laptops will be available from Laptops Direct (UK)

Another place for my fellow Brits to keep saved in the chamber in the midst of the chaos. Laptops Direct have a range of MSI, Razer and Asus RTX 50-series gaming laptops ready to pre-order at 2pm GMT.

Don't skip on AMD's integrated graphics...no seriously!

RTX 50-series laptops are cool and all, and I'm definitely excited to see the raw horsepower of these! But battery life is probably going to be an issue here. It always is with something sporting a dedicated GPU.

Well, the sort of antidote to this is the Asus ROG Flow Z13. Don't let its 2-in-1 slim size fool you — this is a seriously performative beast that can face up to the likes of the RTX 4070 with its Ryzen MAX 390 chipset.

And since it's integrated graphics, the battery life is sipped a lot less!

Get ready to pay a lot for RTX 50 series laptops!

RTX 50-series desktop GPUs are already selling well above Nvidia’s suggested prices, and the same trend seems to be happening with RTX 50-series laptop GPUs. Naturally, factors like the CPU, display, RAM, and storage play a role in pricing, so it’s no surprise that final costs exceed expectations.

Here’s a quick breakdown of Nvidia’s projected pricing:
