Will Levis became the talk of the 2023 NFL draft on Thursday night after his slide out of the first round was widely scrutinized. Though the former Kentucky quarterback has announced he will not be in the green room on Friday night in Kansas City, all eyes will be on which team chooses to select him and when.
In Sports Illustrated’s latest Day 2 mock draft, Luke Easterling projects an interesting landing spot for the one player NFL fans are eagerly watching.
Oddsmakers have installed the Titans (pick No. 41) and Rams (pick No. 36) as the betting favorites to acquire the former Kentucky quarterback. However, SI envisions Levis coming off the board to the Raiders at pick No. 38.
Breer: Will Levis’s Fall Isn’t As Bad As It Seems
“Here’s where the fall finally stops for Levis, who was thought by many to be a potential top-10 pick. Instead, he’d land in Vegas as Jimmy Garoppolo’s understudy for the foreseeable future,” Easterling writes.

Raiders coach Josh McDaniels, who spent 13 seasons as the offensive coordinator of the Patriots, has a reputation as a quarterback guru. Sitting behind both Garoppolo and Brian Hoyer projects as a solid landing spot for Levis as the young signal-caller would be able to learn to the rigors and demands of the NFL game from two seasoned veterans.
After a report from ESPN’s Chris Mortensen broke late Thursday night that teams may have potentially passed on Levis due to a toe injury suffered at Kentucky last season, it will be interesting to see how far the talented quarterback falls on Day 2.
