Queen Elizabeth II has passed away at the age of 96 on September 8, more than a year after her husband, Prince Philip.
The Duke of Edinburgh died last year on April 9, at the age of 99, just two months away from turning 100.
While unconfirmed by Buckingham Palace, it is expected that Philip's body will be exhumed and moved so that he will join his wife for their final resting place.

Where is Prince Philip buried?
Prince Philip's funeral took place on April 17, 2021 a week after he died. The service was attended by a limited number of people due to Covid restrictions.
He was privately interred in the Royal Vault of St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. But this will not be his final resting place.
Prince Philip’s body is expected to be moved from the Royal Vault to the King George VI Memorial Chapel, which is also at St George's, where the couple will be laid to rest together. The Chapel itself is open to visit from the public.
The Duke of Edinburgh was laid to rest in a lead-lined English oak coffin, which was made for him over 30 years ago.
Where are other members of the royal family buried?
Before Philip's death in 2021, we've lost many other beloved members of the royal family.
Princess Diana
In 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales, was tragically killed in a car accident, aged 36. She was buried privately on the grounds of her childhood home, the Spencer family estate, located in Althorp, West Northamptonshire.
Her grave is thought to be in the middle of Round Oval on a peaceful island, however this is not open for the public to visit.
Queen Mother
Later, in 2002, the royal family lost both the Queen Mother as well as her daughter Princess Margaret.
The Queen Mother, who died at the age of 101, was buried Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel in the King George VI Memorial Chapel.
This was named after her late husband, King George VI, who died in 1952 and laid to rest in the memorial chapel in North Quire, a few years later in 1969.
Princess Margaret
Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, died just a few weeks before her mother in February 2002. Margaret's funeral took place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
She was later cremated and her ashes were interred in the King George VI Memorial Chapel, where her parents rest.
Other royal family members
Several members of the royal family have been buried at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle
King George V and Queen Mary of Teck, who are grandparents of our reigning Queen, are buried in the North Nave aisle of St George’s Chapel.
The tombs of George III, George IV, and William IV are in the Royal Vault, alongside many other princes and princesses.
Edward IV and his Queen, Elizabeth Woodville are buried in the North Quire aisle, while Henry VI, Edward VII and Queen Alexandra are in the South Quire.
Some kings and queens are not buried in the chapel. Queen Victoria and Prince Albert have been laid to rest in Royal Mausoleum at Frogmore Gardens in Windsor. This can't be visited by the public.
Near Frogmore Park is the Royal Burial Ground, where Edward VIII and Wallis, The Duchess of Windsor are buried together.Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester has also been laid to rest there.
Some royals like Edward the Confessor and Mary Queen of Scots have been laid to rest at Westminster Abbey
