"Currently just a slightly sore throat," he added to his three million social media followers.
ITV has confirmed to WalesOnline that Alison will replace Phil on Tuesday's show alongside Rochelle Humes, who has been hosting This Morning while Holly Willoughby takes a break to focus on her new television show, Wim Hof's Superstar Survival.
The new BBC series is fronted by Holly and comedian Lee Mack and follows a group of soul-searching celebrities as they embark on an epic adventure of self-improvement under the guidance of 'extreme athlete' and well-being icon Wim Hof.
It's not clear when Holly will return to This Morning.
The 40-year-old was first absent from the show on Monday, January 17 with Phil telling viewers Rochelle Humes would be standing in as co-host while Holly took two weeks off.
"Very busy show for you today," he said at the time. "Rochelle is here as you can see keeping Holly's seat warm.
"She's off with the Ice Man, she's making a show away at the moment, she's off for two weeks and Rochelle is here with me for the full two weeks."
Many were expecting Holly to return to the show this week, you can read more on this here.
This Morning continues weekdays at 10am on ITV.
