Carol Vorderman will be hosting Lorraine for a few days as host Lorraine Kelly is off ill. The 61-year-old Clifton resident shocked GMB presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls this morning after Susanna said she had spotted Carol in the studios earlier this morning (July 11).
The maths whizz and media personality mentioned on Instagram last night that she would be hosting the show, but surprised Susanna and Ed when she introduced Lorraine during this morning's instalment of Good Morning Britain. After noticing Carol at 5am this morning, Susanna said: "I didn't think you were in for our programme but you're not!"
Speaking to Susanna and Ed from the Lorraine studio, Carol said: "I know, well I didn't think so either but sadly Lorraine's caught the dreaded you-know-what. So, I'm sitting in for a few days, which I'm delighted to do.

"But we are wishing her a speedy recovery. Get well soon, Lorraine."
When Susanna praised Carol for doing a 'fabulous job', and said that she looked fabulous, Carol replied: "I didn't look like this at 5 o'clock this morning, that's for sure."
On Twitter this morning, Lorraine informed her Twitter followers of the change to this week's run of her show. She wrote: "Well the Covid has finally got me and I tested positive at the weekend.
"Thanks to the vaccine it’s not too bad and I hope to be back at work very soon. Huge thanks to @carolvorders who will be hosting @lorraine until I’m back."
Lorraine's followers wished her a speedy recovery, with many also suffering from Covid at the moment. Admiral Slog said: "Sorry to hear that Lorraine. Take good care of yourself- your show is in good hands with Carol."
"It finally got me last week too - it's not too bad. Hope you're on the mend soon." said Sian Dempsey. With a heart emoji, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party Angela Rayner said: "Hope you feel better soon."
