Death in Paradise is back as series 11 commenced last week to expectant fans' delight.
The show started by following British detective Richard Poole, played by Ben Miller, who solved crimes on the island.
Poole was murdered at the start of series three and replaced by Humphrey Goodman, played by Kris Marshall, who investigates Poole's suspicious death. Goodman resigned in the middle of series six so that he could start a new life in London with his girlfriend.
He was replaced by DI Jack Mooney, played by Ardal O'Hanlon. Mooney investigated the strange happenings in Paradise up until series nine.
His replacement is DI Neville Parker, played by Ralf Little, who at first dislikes the island's exotic nature but then eventually warms to the destination. Parker is the main character in this year's series.
The show has a long history. First airing in 2011, it sits in the top three of the most popular programmes on British television.
