Based on Lucy Maud Montgomery's classic children's novel Anne of Green Gables, Netflix drama Anne With an E is back for a third and final season.
Following the adventures and tribulations of Anne Shirley (Amybeth McNulty), a young, orphaned girl who is taken in by the elderly Cuthbert siblings, the show appeals to both children and adults alike.
As well as wholesome storylines, viewers are treated to some stunning videography and picturesque backdrops.
But just where is the show shot? Here are the Canada filming locations used in Anne With an E...
Where is Anne With an E filmed?
Filming for the Netflix show predominantly took place on Prince Edward Island, just off the eastern coast of Canada.
With a present day population of just over 150,000 people, the island boasts secluded sandy beaches and crystal clear water - as well as rich and diverse animal life.
The farmhouse that features in the show is in fact located in the idyllic city of Pickering in Ontario, Canada and the producers even replaced the roof to make it look more authentic.
Speaking to the CBC, executive producer Miranda de Pencier explained the decision to split filming across two locations.
"We would love to shoot more of it in P.E.I.," she said. "One of the biggest things, as you can imagine, is logistics.
"To bring them [a cast and crew of 200] into the Island, cost-wise, was just impossible for us."
Is Avonlea a real place?
While the Cuthbert's farm is said to be in Avonlea, it is in fact a fictional village which Montgomery based on her childhood in Cavendish, an area located on the island.
In the book, Montgomery describes the region in dizzying prose: “It was November--the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and, as she said, let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul.”
She also speaks of the "lovely blue sky that looks as if there was no end to its blueness", and "the silvery, peaceful beauty and fragrant calm of that night."
When is Anne With an E set?
While Lucy Maud Montgomery wrote the book in 1908, the narrative is set at the end of the 1800s.
Why is Anne With an E being cancelled?
After three seasons, Netflix has decided to pull the plug on the family show.
Fans of the series have since set up a campaign online to bring it back.
While the exact reasons have never been confirmed, producer Moira Walley-Beckett wrote a lengthy Instagram post shedding some light on the matter.
All three seasons of Anne With an E are available to stream on Netflix now.
