Where is Aldi's pigs in blankets Christmas restaurant? Pop-up back by popular demand

Nothing says Christmas is almost here like a Bottomless Pigs in Blankets Restaurant opening up in London.

Back by popular demand for another year, Aldi’s famous festive pop-up will open its doors later this month for another round of delicious seasonal snacking.

For just £5 per meal, Christmas lovers can tuck into six different pigs in blankets combos from the discount food store’s collection.

As well as a specially selected pigs in blanket recipe, there’s truffle chipolata, honey and ginger candy cane, and even cheese pigs in blankets.

On top of that, there’s also a Yorkshire sliders option and an exciting roulette that gives fans a chance to taste some seriously spicy hot pigs in blankets.

There’s also an extra option for non-meat eaters: the impressive foot-long Vegan Pig in Blanket.

Alongside some festive treats, diners can also enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly, beer, or a soft drink, which is included in the price.

Located on Bethnal Green Road in Shoreditch, the restaurant will welcome London’s Christmas food lovers from 29th to 30th November from 12:30pm to 8:30pm.

“Customers went wild for our Pigs in Blankets Restaurant last year, so we knew we had to bring it back,” Julie Ashfield from Aldi’s team said.

“The humble pig in blanket is the King of the Christmas dinner spread - the irresistible combination of savoury sausage and crispy bacon creates a blend of flavours and textures that is hard to resist.”

She added: “Whether taking on a game of chance with our Pig in Blanket Roulette, or indulging in a Vegan Footlong Pig in Blanket, we can’t wait for shoppers to experience everything we have to offer this Christmas.”

Tickets for the upcoming event have already sold out online, but organisers say there may also be some room for walk-ins. All proceeds from the tickets will go to the charity Neighbourly.

Aldi’s popular pop-up will come at the same time they start stocking pigs in blankets in store. Last year, the supermarket sold an impressive 42 million pigs in blankets, and this year, it might sell even more.

But are we necessarily surprised by the nation’s affinity for this tasty snack?

Hardly. According to research, British people are expected to eat 668 million pigs in blankets this Christmas - more than 11 per person.

It turns out the capital boasts the biggest collection of pigs in blankets lovers, with Londoners set to eat an average of 14 pigs in blankets throughout the festive season.
