After Life’s hotly-anticipated second series has now landed on Netflix, which sees Ricky Gervais return as the hugely cynical journalist Tony, as he struggles to come to terms with his wife’s death.
In a similar vein to the first series, Tony finds himself slipping back to his old, negative ways, with his job now at risk and his eccentric group of friends becoming increasingly concerned.
The tragi-comedy is based in the town of Tambury, which although is fictional, is actually comprised of various UK locations which create the idyllic backdrop.
So for those curious to find out where those familiar scenes were shot, here are the filming locations for the latest season of After Life.
Where is After Life series two filmed?
The street where Tony lives with his dog Brandy can be found in the Vale of Health, a quaint and quiet hamlet in North Hampstead.
In the opening episode of the second series, fans will recognise Tony overlooking Hampstead Heath.
The offices of the failing Tambury Gazette newspaper are located in the centre of Hemel Hempstead, alongside The Coffee Cup café which also features in the show.
The care home where Tony’s dementia-stricken father Ray (played by David Bradley) lives is set at the Old Town Registration Office in celebrity haunt Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire.
Previous locations include Camber Sands Beach in East Sussex.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Gervais said he was taken aback by the initial response to the first series of After Life.
The 58-year-old explained: “My agent had over 300 letters when After Life came out, which doesn’t happen for me.
“I get fan mail, but not letters. It made me realise everyone is grieving."
