Where Hector Bellerin could fit in at Arsenal next season amid Real Betis Copa del Rey win

Arsenal loanee Hector Bellerin has won the Copa del Rey with boyhood club Real Betis. The Spaniard provided an assist for Borja Iglesias in the 11th minute of the game before Valencia equalised prior to the half-hour mark.

The match remained level until penalties, where Betis eventually triumphed 5-4 to lift the coveted trophy. It's the first major honour the club have won in 17 years, and Bellerin played a huge part in it.

The Spanish right-back has been out on loan this season and appears unlikely to return to the Emirates Stadium next term. football.london reported last month that Arsenal are set to open talks with the La Liga outfit regarding the permanent transfer of the academy graduate, with just a year remaining on his current Gunners deal.

Should an agreement be found between the two clubs, then that would see Bellerin bring to an end his 11-year association with Arsenal, having arrived from Barcelona in 2011.

Some fans may be thinking it's the right time for him to finally move on from north London, whilst others have suggested to keep him as he provides cover in an essential position. Takehiro Tomiyasu's injury struggles have meant that Cedric Soares has often occupied the right-back area of late, whilst he's done fairly well, there's an argument that Bellerin is more equipped to fill in when required.

That being said, it's unlikely he'll ever be a regular starter again should he return. Tomiyasu - who returned to action late on against Manchester United on Saturday - was in fine form before his injury and is already a favourite amongst the Emirates faithful.

And with just one-year left on his contract, the Gunners will probably want to cash-in on him before it's too late. They've let several big-name players go for little to no money in recent years, and they won't want to add Bellerin's name to that list.
