Where Harry and Meghan are going on their UK trip

This week, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are in the UK for a private trip. The couple will meet some of the people involved in charities they are linked with.

The last time they came here was back in June for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in June, when the Queen met their daughter Lilibet for the first time.

According to a spokesperson for the Sussexes: “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September.” The couple will also visit Germany.

September 5

Today (September 5) marks the start of the visit with Harry and Meghan attending the One Young World 2022 Summit in Manchester. The summit sets out to “bring together more than 2,000 of the brightest young leaders from every country and sector, working to accelerate social impact both in-person and digitally”.

They are expected to spend one day in Manchester. One of the activities will be meeting with a group of delegates working on gender equality.

September 6

September 6 will see the Sussexes fly to Dusseldorf in Germany. It is a visit connected to the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023. The Duke of Sussex is the Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation and there is now one year to go to the start of the Games.

The Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023 will see more than 500 competitors from 20 nations compete in a series of adaptive sports.

September 8

The couple come back to the UK for the WellChild Awards 2022 on Thursday, September 8. The awards celebrate the inspirational qualities of seriously ill children and young people, along with those who go the extra mile to help others.

Prince Harry has worked with the charity as Patron for some time now. He aims to encourage people to nominate others for awards.

Harry said recently: “Like so many, my spirit is consistently renewed by the strength and fortitude of the WellChild community. These children and their parents never cease to amaze and inspire me, and I cherish every opportunity I have to connect with them.

"Every year, I look forward to honouring the incredible recipients of the WellChild Awards, and I encourage everyone in the UK to get involved this year. The last two years has been hard on everyone, but for these families far harder than most. Spread the word that nominations are now open, or nominate someone you know today!”

Will Harry and Meghan meet any other royals this week?

No formal meetings are planned with other royals. But, as with previous visits, there may be some last-minute arrangements made.
