Where Erik ten Hag will live: New Man Utd boss' request as he aims to follow Pep Guardiola

Erik ten Hag preparations to turn around Manchester United's fortunes in the coming season have already begun.

With problems at every turn, only time will tell whether Ten Hag can get Cristiano Ronaldo and his misfiring teammates resembling a side that lives up to the standards of the legendary club. The 52-year-old Dutchman has reportedly already given United’s top brass requests about what he needs to do the job, and this includes an important demand about his living arrangements.

In the past, managers taking on the responsibility of leading - arguably - the biggest football club in the world have made the mistake of trying to do so while living out of a suitcase. Jose Mourinho made this mistake when he took the reins in 2016, opting to live in the Lowry Hotel rather than settling in a place to properly call home.

So, with this in mind, where is Erik setting up HQ?

Where does Erik ten Hag live in Manchester?

The new Manchester United boss is apparently moving to Salford.

Sorting out a nice place to stay was all part of the ex-Ajax man’s requests he made to Manchester United when he agreed to come aboard, the Daily Star reports. To make things a little spicy, Ten Hag’s new home is just around the corner from his future nemesis and former boss, Manchester City gaffer Pep Guardiola.

It is understood that United also considered setting ten Hag up in a complex City stars Gundogan and Bernardo Silva call home.

Despite growing up in the Dutch countryside, the gaffer is said to like living among the action, having most recently lived above a supermarket in Amsterdam. With rent in his new city potentially as high as £10,000 a month, United are said to be footing the bill.

An insider at United told the Star: “Ten Hag feels it is important to be immersed in the local culture and has plenty of interests away from football. “He knows Pep very well from their days working together at Bayern Munich and will be close enough to pop round for a cup of sugar if he needs it.”

City were once famously labelled the noisy neighbours by Man U legend Sir Alex Ferguson as they slowly overcame United at the top of the pile - now his successor Erik will be hoping to shift the tide back the other way again and paint the town red.
