Cardiff council has made more than £2m within just six months by fining drivers.
The first cameras were turned on in December 2014 and the scheme has grown and there are now 14 across the city.
There are 11 cameras on yellow boxes across the city and 16 monitoring banned turns.
They now also fine for drivers caught using yellow box junctions incorrectly and banned movements.
The place most drivers were caught out by a bus lane camera was Custom House Street where 9,505 drivers were caught in the first six months of this year.
More than 4,000 were caught using yellow boxes at Churchill Way/Bute St and 3,293 drivers were found making banned turns at Malverne Drive.
The most recently available figures show that in the first six months of the financial year between April 2019 and March 2020, those fines made the council £2m.
In total, 39,355 drivers have been caught in bus lanes and 26,318 people have paid their fines, netting the council £1,002,154.
The council's camera car caught another 5,323 people, so far, 3,810 people have paid those fines.
Drivers making banned movements were caught 32,745 times in the six month period, and 23,698 people have paid.
The most recent figures also show that £837,287 was made via parking in the city.
Bus lane fines:

The council say that bus services are "particularly susceptible to the effects of traffic congestion and any delays increase operating costs and lead to higher fares.
"Bus lanes and bus gates quicken journey times, increase reliability and encourage the use of sustainable transport."

Custom House Street has been a controversial camera as the traffic adjudicator said fines there cannot be enforced.
However, Cardiff council say that was because of specific circumstances and they are continuing to fine drivers there.
A spokesman said: "Bus lane fines are still being enforced along Custom House Street as the signage did and continues to comply with the requirements of the legislation (Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016)."
The tips to avoid a fine, according to Cardiff council are:
- Bus lanes are also bounded by a solid white line which you cannot cross
- Be patient - if traffic is busy in the unrestricted lanes then this does not mean you can use bus lanes or bus gates illegally.
- Many people believe that there is a 20 metre grace distance for an unauthorised vehicle to travel within a bus lane but the ’20 metre rule’ has no basis in law.
Yellow box fines:
Yellow boxes are the hatched marking painted on the roads. They are often at busy junctions and to keep a road space free for emergency services.
You can enter a yellow box junction when your exit is clear and there is enough space on the other side of the junction for your vehicle to clear the box completely without stopping.
You can stop in a yellow box junction when turning right if you are prevented from turning by oncoming traffic, or by other vehicles waiting to turn right.

Banned turns:
According to the council website, these restrictions are in force because "ignoring these bans can be very dangerous and could result in an accident".
"A banned turn occurs when drivers ignore signs giving instructions as to a direction they must or must not take. Enforcement of banned turns helps to manage how traffic uses the road and makes it safer for pedestrians and other drivers."
