Michigan State hockey is no longer the top-ranked team in the country.
The Spartans dropped out of the No. 1 spot in the updated USCHO.com rankings that were released on Monday. Michigan State dropped one spot to No. 2, with Boston College moving ahead of the Spartans as the new No. 1 this week.
Michigan State split this past weekend’s series with rival Michigan. The Spartans dropped Friday’s series opener in overtime at Yost Ice Arena, and then rebounded with a convincing win over the Wolverines on Saturday.
Michigan State is one of four Big Ten teams ranked this week. All of the Big Ten teams are in the top ten, with Minnesota at No. 4, Ohio State at No. 9 and Michigan at No. 10.
