Where do the Panthers stand in NFL power rankings heading into Week 12?

As expected, the Carolina Panthers didn’t put up enough of a fight against the visiting Dallas Cowboys in Week 11. So, also as expected, they didn’t make much of a move across the landscape of the NFL.

Here’s where the Panthers stand in the power rankings heading into Week 12:

Rank: 32 (-2)

Take: “Next season, Frank Reich is going to be sitting at the end of a bar sipping an old fashioned smoking a Marlboro Red while staring at a picture of the 2017 Eagles.”

Rank: 32 (-1)

Take: “They haven’t clinched the top pick of the 2024 draft − for Chicago – yet. But Carolina is assured of a sixth consecutive losing season since owner David Tepper assumed control of the franchise in 2018.”

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Author: Eric Edholm

Rank: 32 (-)

Take: “If you want to win with Bryce Young right now, everything has to be pretty perfect. The offense must play turnover-free ball — or have the defense extract more net takeaways. Carolina must play disciplined, ball-control football. You can see that’s what the Panthers want to do, but some bad first-half penalties against Dallas threw a wrench into those plans. Young showed some nice things on the long, patient TD drive in the third quarter. But as soon as the Cowboys hit the gas pedal again, Young came unglued. He threw a pick-six and lost a fumble on a sack (one of seven he took), and that was the moment the pregame battle plans were immolated. Sunday’s loss is yet another step backward after the win over the Texans and another painful reminder of how unlikely that lone W was for the Panthers.”

ESPN

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Author: David Newton

Rank: 32 (-)

Take: “Coach Frank Reich has full ownership of the hot seat now with the Panthers an NFL-worst 1-9 and rookie quarterback Bryce Young looking like a bust as the top pick of the draft. Reich’s seat is starting to boil.”

CBS Sports

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Author: Pete Prisco

Rank: 32 (-)

Take: “Does it matter who calls plays? The offense is awful and Bryce Young looks lost.”

Pro Football Talk

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

Author: Mike Florio

Rank: 31 (-)

Take: “Soon, no coach in his right mind will want to work for David Tepper.”
