The Chiefs won a nail-biter in their first home game of the season. K.C. trailed by 10 at two different points of the game but eventually jumped ahead thanks to a fourth-quarter pick-six by rookie cornerback Jaylen Watson.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes ended the day with 235 yards and two touchdowns passing, while running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire stood out with 118 total yards on 12 touches. The defense stepped up as well, with defensive lineman Chris Jones earning a pair of sacks.

The Chiefs go back on the road in Week 3 against the 0-1-1 Colts, who hope to regain momentum after being shut out 24-0 by the Jacksonville Jaguars over the weekend.

Week 2 result: Lost 24-27 at Chiefs
Week 3 opponent: vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Chargers couldn’t quite hold onto their lead against the Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 2. It came down to the wire, but a fourth-quarter interception by Chargers QB Justin Herbert put the game into Kansas City’s hands and it never left.

Herbert was banged up in the fourth quarter of that game, and it turns out he fractured rib cartilage after a hit by Chiefs defensive end Mike Danna. Herbert played through his injury and finished the game, but the long-term effects of his injury remain unclear. The Chargers plan to take on the 1-1 Jaguars at home in Week 3.

Denver Broncos (1-1)

Week 2 result: Won 16-9 vs. Houston Texans
Week 3 opponent: vs. San Francisco 49ers

After a disappointing Monday night outing against the Seahawks in Week 1, the Broncos bounced back with a close win over the Texans. QB Russell Wilson had an up-and-down day with 219 yards and one touchdown passing along with one interception. The team’s running game was the highlight with RBs Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon combining for 122 yards on 15 carries.

Denver has its toughest test yet in Week 3 with a matchup against the 1-1 49ers on “Sunday Night Football.” The Niners lost QB Trey Lance to an ankle injury in Week 2, so Jimmy Garoppolo will get the nod at signal-caller.

Las Vegas Raiders (0-2)

Overall record: 0-2
vs. AFC West: 0-1
vs. AFC: 0-1
Points for: 42
Points against: 53

Week 2 result: Lost 23-29 vs. Arizona Cardinals
Week 3 opponent: at Tennessee Titans

The Raiders are the only AFC West squad that remains without a victory. They lost in overtime against the Cardinals after a fumble by receiver Hunter Renfrow turned into a game-winning fumble-return touchdown by Cardinals cornerback Byron Murphy.

The Raiders had at one point led the game 20-0 and also led 23-7 in the fourth quarter. The game-losing fumble by Renfrow was his second fumble of the game, and he was also evaluated for a concussion after the game. A rough day overall for Vegas, who will look for its first win of the season against the 0-1 Titans in Week 3.
