While some people like Sam Fender still live and breathe the Geordie air, others have strayed further afield to the glitz and glamour of places like London and LA.

Sting was born Gordon Matthew Sumner in Wallsend and became a worldwide star with his band The Police before pursuing a successful solo career.

The North East music legend is proud of his roots with his musical The Last Ship inspired by his childhood experiences and the shipbuilding industry in Wallsend.

Despite his love for the region, he moved out and now lives with his wife in a £7m 16th-century manor house located in Wiltshire.

Sting also owns a New York City flat, which was once owned by Billy Joel, and the Villa Il Palagio estate in Figline Valdarno, Tuscany.

Geordie legends Ant and Dec were born in Newcastle and are still proud as punch of where they come from.

The pair made their name on the hit kids’ TV programme Byker Grove, set in Newcastle where they played pals PJ (Ant) and Duncan (Dec), even enjoying a brief but successful chart career.

Ant used to live in Chiswick with his then make-up artist wife Lisa Armstrong- just down the road from Dec.

However, Ant moved in with his current wife Anne-Marie Corbett in 2018 and the couple bought a £6m mansion in Wimbledon, close to parks and open spaces.

Dec still lives in his seven-bedroom Chiswick mansion alongside his wife Ali Astall and daughter Isla.

And in August 2021, the couple announced that they had welcomed a son into the world who they named Axel.

Now six months old, Axel is enjoying lavish holidays to Dubai with his superstar mam and dad.

Perrie's bandmate and close friend Jade also hails from South Shields in the Laygate area and although she has moved away is still proud of her hometown.

She now lives in a lavish £1m apartment in London but is still regularly spotted in and around the North East.

Jade owns the Arbeia bar in Ocean Road, South Shields, which was initially opened in 2019 as Red Door before the 28-year-old singer renamed it in a nod to one of the town's Roman fort.

The glitzy venue has attracted a host of fellow celebs, including Andy Carroll, Joe McElderry, and Geordie Shore's Sophie Kasaei.

The 38-year-old was born in Newcastle upon Tyne on 30 June 1983 and grew up on council estates in the suburbs of Walker and Heaton.

Cheryl has since made her home in Buckinghamshire in the large village of Chalfont St. Peter.
