In-form Calvin Bassey looks to have no shortage of suitors this summer.
The Rangers defender has been strongly linked with a move away from Ibrox to join ex-boss Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa after an impressive end to the domestic and European campaign.
He has continued that impressive form for Nigeria earning rave reviews in his homeland, leading to speculation ramping up over his future.
And now and interview with the Unique Sport Group has resurfaced in the Nigerian press.
Bassey states on his future: “My dream, obviously, is to win trophies.
“I want to be part of a winning team and test myself against some of the best players in the world domestically and at the international level.”
The centre-back is more likely to lift silverware if he was to remain at Rangers ‐ having lifted the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup during his time at the club.
Villa on the other hand have not lifted a cup since their League Cup victory in 1996.
However, Gerrard will no doubt argue the case that the English Premier League boasts some of the best players in the world - another requirement of Bassey's next step.
Though Rangers ' run to the Europa League final has shown Bassey that he can face some elite level players while at Ibrox.
The club are also guaranteed a spot in the Europa League group stage as a minimum next season, but will be aiming to join Celtic in the Champions League group stage next term by navigating the playoff spots.
It's unlikely that he will have the same opportunity to venture into Europe's elite competition at Villa Park.
A top four English Premier League spot would appear a step too far a side next term who have not featured in European competition since 2010 under Martin O'Neill.
For Bassey it could come to a decision between medals and playing in one of Europe's infamous 'Big Five' leagues.
