In lieu of a new summer season of Love Island, fans have been treated to a showing of the first Australian version of the show, which originally aired in 2018.
ITV has rolled out the Australian series over recent weeks, treating fans to a taste of how the matchmaking experiment played out downunder.
Given that it’s two years since Love Island Australia premiered, a lot may have changed for the couples since then.
Let’s check in and see what’s happened to the Love Island Australia contestants…
Tayla and Grant
Tayla Damir and Grant Crapp were crowned the winning couple of the series, but their romance was painfully short-lived.
Crapp was rumoured to have a secret girlfriend on the side, and just two weeks after he won the show with Damir, he got back together with his ex.
Eden Dally and Erin Barnett
Eden and Erin coupled up early on in the series, but sadly, their romance also didn’t stand the test of time.
Two months from the show’s conclusion, they announced their breakup.
"We look back and cherish the time we have spent together, the memories we have created, in both Spain and in Australia," they said at the time.
"We can't thank each and everyone of you enough for the support and love you have shown us, but we have to be honest within ourselves as we realise that our forever as a couple is no longer."
Josh Moss and Amelia Plummer
Josh and Amelia boast a rare success story, with their relationship still going strong two years down the track.
Amelia regularly shares adorable couple photos of the pair together, showing that they are as loved up as ever since leaving Spain.
Recently, Amelia spoke candidly about the “strain” placed on relationships by lockdown.
“I know this period has put a lot of strain and pressure on so many relationships,” she said. “So many couples are dealing and working through issues atm. And hell, we were too. Josh and I are back on track now, we have pushed through and become even stronger and closer. But wow there were soooo many hurdles through this period.”
Dom and Shelby
Dom and Shelby called off their relationship not long after the show, saying they were “best off as friends.”
“This is something we had both recently discussed and agreed upon and is not a sudden decision.”
Millie and Mark
Millie and Mark kept their relationship going for a solid six months after the show concluded, but sadly ended things as well.
"Mark and I have had such an amazing time together and we will forever cherish our special moments, unfortunately at this point in time we have decided we are both going in different directions and have to part ways,” Millie wrote on Instagram.
