Capcom has broadcasted a Spotlight stream to reveal news updates for multiple upcoming Xbox and PC games. The Spotlight was then followed up by a special Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase stream revealing new info on one of the most anticipated titles for 2025.

The Capcom February 2025 Spotlight was a deluge of rapid-fire news updates for the already released Marvel vs Capcom Fight Collection: Arcade Classics and upcoming Xbox titles / upcoming PC titles like Onimusha: Way of the Sword and the Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

The Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase followed with more new information for Monster Hunter Wilds, a new trailer, and more info on its upcoming 2nd Open Beta Test.

Marvel vs Capcom Fight Collection: Arcade Classics

Marvel vs Capcom Fight Collection: Arcade Classics, a compilation of fighting games that notoriously skipped Xbox on its original release, kicked off the showcase. Capcom announced Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics would launch on Xbox during the showcase. This compilation features an all-star collection of titles from Capcom's beloved Marvel Vs. Capcom franchise like Marvel Vs. Capcom Clash of Superheroes, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 New Age of Heroes, X-Men Vs. Street Fighter and more.

Capcom followed up with more for the fighter fans. Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is an upcoming compilation featuring some of Capcom's classic fighting games of the past like Capcom vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001, Project Justice, Power Stone 1 and 2, Rival Schools, now upgraded with quality-of-life features and online multiplayer with rollback netcode.

Fighting Collection 2 is set to launch on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch on May 16, 2025. Preorders are now live.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the long-awaited revival of Capcom's cult-classic, hack-and-slash adventure series, Onimusha, was certainly the centerpiece of the showcase. Capcom offered developer commentary from Onimusha: Way of the Sword's producer and director, along with some details about the game's sword-to-sword combat and soul-sucking action. Additional details about the game's dark fantasy setting in the city of Kyoto and the new protagonist for the series were also revealed.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword has a release window of 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Steam.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny

Capcom pulled the "just one more thing!" card right after the Onimusha: Way of the Sword deep dive by revealing that a remake of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny was in production. The game, originally released in 2002, has never been remastered for modern consoles. It is only the second title from the Onimusha franchise to receive the remaster treatment, and will launch later in 2025 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

Capcom capped off the Showcase stream with a 15-minute deep dive for Monster Hunter Wilds, the latest and most anticipated entry in Capcom's best-selling Monster Hunter series. The showcase unveiled a wealth of new information, including details on the game's upcoming second Open Beta Test. A new cinematic trailer showed off a multitude of new and returning monsters for players to hunt.

Monster Hunter Wilds is currently scheduled to be released on February 28, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
