Many of us binge-watched The Bold Type on Netflix in just a few weeks, but when will season five of the comedy-drama return to our screens?
The popular series follows best friends Kat Edison (played by Aisha Dee), Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens) and Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy) who all work together at a glamorous women’s magazine, Scarlet
The fan-favourite trio have overcome many entertaining situations since the show first launched in 2017 - from breaking into a printing facility to steal magazines to putting $800 of drinks and cocaine on a company card at a bar for an Instagram influencer.
However, the New York-based series also tackles some important issues too, such as the challenges encountered by Jane after she discovers she has the BRCA1 gene mutation and the issues surrounding gun control in America.
But after season four finished on a serious cliff-hanger, many of us have been patiently waiting for season five to drop in the UK.
When is The Bold Type Season 5 coming on Netflix?
The Bold Type was released on Freeform and Hulu in May last year, but it’s bad news for fans elsewhere in the world.
As of yet, a UK release date hasn't been announced by the creators of the show.
The first four seasons were dropped on Netflix in early 2021 so subscribers could binge-watch all of the episodes.
But there has been no talk of the latest series making its way to the streaming service.
Since the first four series are already on there, it does seem more than likely that at some point the fifth season will be made available on Netflix as well.

Season five is going to be the shortest series of The Bold Type, with the upcoming instalment made up of just six episodes.
This is a major decrease from season four which had a total of 16 episodes.
What can we expect from The Bold Type season 5?
Fans of the show can expect just as much drama from Jane, Kat and Sutton as they balance everything from fashion shoots and mid-20s dating to heavier subjects.
The plot will revisit magazine stylist Sutton who was left heartbroken when her husband Richard walked out on her after she revealed she didn’t want to have children.
Showrunner Wendy Straker Hauser explained: “Sutton and Richard haven’t hit real, huge roadblocks before.
“I’m hopeful that they’ll get to know themselves better, and we’ll see. I certainly don’t think the door is closed forever. But we’ll all discuss it in season five.”
Meanwhile, Kat, who recently broke up with conservative girlfriend Eva over text, may rekindle things with ex-lover Adena.
Nikohl Boosheri, who plays Adena, told Digital Spy : “I was really surprised and pleased [it was ending], because the show had kind of gotten shut down due to Covid-19 last year, right? They got shut down in March, and didn’t get to finish, I think, their last two episodes and completely wrap it up.
“Just the fact that everyone came together to wrap this up in a way that made sense and that fans would be happy with, as well as considering the circumstances we’re under – I feel so lucky to have been through that.”
As for Jane, the journalist was last seen challenging editor-in-chief Jacqueline’s decision to put an end to an inappropriate workplace story she had been working on, while also trying to distract herself from feelings towards a new colleague.
Will there be a season 6 of The Bold Type?
It’s bad news for fans of The Bold Type, as season 5 is set to be the finale of the popular show.
While Freeform has remained quiet about the official reason for the show’s ending, fans have speculated that the character’s journey has come to a natural end.
Meanwhile, Newsweek has hinted that the show’s cancellation may be due to its declining ratings.
The site reported the show’s fourth season saw a 32 percent decline compared to its third season.
For the time being, it looks like we are going to have to revisit the first four seasons of The Bold Type, which are still all available on Netflix UK.
