When will Love Island end? Series 8 final date as show reaches halfway point recoupling

We are at the halfway point in this year's season of Love Island, and already there have been more sneaky balcony snogs, deep chats and slow motion bombshell entrances than you can shake a personalised water bottle at.

Dramatic recouplings are expected tonight after Casa Amor shook things up, but when can we expect the show to end, and the winners to be handed £50,000?

An official date for the final has yet to be announced, but during this season's launch, presenter Laura Whitmore said the dating show would run for eight weeks this year.

Usually Love Island concludes with a live show on a Monday evening.

This year, the show started on Monday, June 6, suggesting that we will discover which couple is victorious on Monday, August 1.

Last night amped up the drama, as the original boys and girls, separated into Casa Amor and the villa with a bevvy of new singletons, deliberated over their choices.

We are expected to learn whether the cast will stay in their original couples, or pick one of the new bombshells, after last night's show ended on a tantalising cliff hanger, with Laura Whitmore arriving for the 'stick or twist' proceedings, with newly dyed pink hair.

Andrew, Dami and Jacques all have big decision ahead of them, as they've been getting particularly friends with the new girls, despite appearing to be in stable couples before Casa Amor.

Some fans were left annoyed after realising the ITV2 series has ditched a savage twist from the show.

Viewers believe Casa Amor has been "cut short", after noticing a usual and brutal element has not happened.

Neither villa has been sent a postcard exposing the 'cheating' antics of the boys or the girls to their original partners.

Normally, a postcard containing images of Islanders kissing bombshells and sharing a bed with them is sent to the main villa, and it often causes upset.

This hasn't happened this year, and instead the show has gone straight to the recoupling.

Some fans wondered if it was because of how much upset it caused in the last series, leading to Ofcom complaints.

It has been ditched once before too, before returning last series, and some viewers are thinking producers are saving all the juicy content for Movie Night instead.

Either way, some viewers are not happy about it given how much the boys have had their heads turned this series.

Taking to Twitter, viewers shared their outrage over the missing postcard, realising the girls would not be warned before making their choices.

One viewer said: "my head is already hurting. no postcards? casa cut short, very messy."

Another asked: "Wait, does this mean there will be no postcard ? no heads up? Just the girls being left solo and shocked once their partners walk in with new birds??!"

Others were happy though, as they believed it was likely to increase the drama and the shock of the girls returning to find their boys had moved on.
