Star Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis, who will miss the in-season tournament quarterfinals between the Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers, is on track to make a return this week per new reporting from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Porzingis, who is recovering from a low-grade calf strain sustained just over a week ago, made the trip to Indiana with the team. Although he didn’t participate in practice last week, he has been steadily progressing in his recovery, with no reported setbacks. The cautious approach taken by the Celtics reflects the uniqueness of Porzingis’ injury, one he has not encountered before. However, the player himself was optimistic about returning to the court within approximately a week.
