When will Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy face Wagatha Christie trial verdict?

The Wagatha Christie trial is almost at an end after captivating fans with the libel battle following Coleen Rooney ’s infamous social media post.

Back in October 2019, the mum-of-four accused Rebekah Vardy ’s Instagram account of being responsible for leaking information about her to the tabloids.

Coleen said “for a few years” one of her private Instagram account followers had been sharing details of her posts with The Sun, and after suspecting it could be Rebekah - who is the wife of footballer Jamie Vardy - she posted a series of false stories to catch her out.

“I have saved and screenshotted all the original stories which clearly show just one person has viewed them. It’s… Rebekah Vardy’s account,” she penned.

Rebekah strenuously denied she was behind the leaks, and launched legal action against Coleen, and at the High Court in London, she said she had “no choice” because she wanted to clear her name and “establish her innocence and vindicate her reputation”.

The trial, which kicked off last week, has entertained millions of fans, who have been following the bitter feud since Coleen, nicknamed Wagatha Christie, shared the findings of her detective work.

The court case has seen Wayne Rooney take to the stand and give evidence, telling the judge Coleen has become “a different mother and wife” over the past two and a half years, due to the “traumatic” situation.

After high-fashion - and high drama - inside and outside the court, lawyers for the women have delivered their closing statements today.

With the end of the court battle in sight, there was more drama still to come, as Rebekah stormed out of the court after being accused of deleting WhatsApp messages by Coleen’s legal team.

On Thursday morning, lawyers summarised the case in their closing speeches, and now, Mrs Justice Steyn, who is overseeing the case, will consider her ruling.

It’s not yet known when exactly the ruling will be announced.

But it will be at a later date as the judge considers all the evidence and will give her judgement in writing.

The case has been embroiled in controversy, as many criticised Rebekah for bringing the case to court, which will cost her - and Coleen - millions of pounds in legal fees.

Instead, many suggested the money be donated to charity, and the women discuss their bitter feud in private, rather than in the High Court.
