The Manchester City results of late have been shocking to say the least and have now suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in all competitions when Tottenham beat them 4-0 at the Etihad on Saturday.
Pep Guardiola had never lost five games in a row – either as a player or manager – until the weekend. Now this poor run of Manchester City results has landed the Catalan coach in unprecedented territory.

City are now under pressure to end this losing streak ahead of facing Premier League leaders Liverpool next weekend.
And the reigning Premier League champions can end their streak against Feyenoord in the Champions League on Wednesday. But when was the last time City lost six games on the bounce in all competitions?
Manchester City Results: When Was The Last Time They Lost Six Games In A Row?
The last time Man City lost six games in a row was 18 years to the 2005/06 campaign.
Man City experienced one of their worst stretches as a football club in the Premier League era under then-manager Stuart Pearce.
Not only did they lose six Premier League games in a row that season, it was also a run of seven defeats when including their FA Cup quarter-final exit.
The disastrous run kick-started in March 2006 when they were beaten 2-1 by Portsmouth at Fratton Park. Wigan then beat them 1-0 a week later before being dumped out of the FA Cup by West Ham.
Defeats by Chelsea, Middlesbrough, Tottenham and West Ham (again) in the Premier League saw them lose seven on the bounce.

Man City will be the favourites going into their next Champions League game against Dutch side Feyenoord.
However, their current form will only give the Eredivisie side huge amounts of confidence for Wednesday’s clash.

City were thrashed 4-1 by Sporting Lisbon last time round in the Champions League. Guardiola will be praying to end this horrid run with a win in Europe.
Should they lose again in midweek, another poor performance again next weekend against Liverpool could see them match their disastrous run from that 2005/06 campaign.
Another two bad Manchester City results will see the pressure piled on Guardiola. While a defeat against Feyenoord won’t be the end of the world for them in Europe, defeat by Liverpool next weekend will all but surely end their hopes of retaining the title.
