When was Paul O'Grady's For The Love of Dogs filmed? ITV show returns for final series

Paul O'Grady will be back on ITV on Thursday night, two weeks after his death, when his popular show For The Love of Dogs returns for a final series. And viewers are predicting they'll be in tears as they watch it.

the early hours of Wednesday, March 29, the sad news broke that much loved entertainer and staunch activist Paul had passed away at the age of 67, with Paul's husband Andre Portasio telling the world: "It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening. We ask, at this difficult time, that whilst you celebrate his life you also respect our privacy as we come to terms with this loss.

“He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion. I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years.”

And, following the screening of emotional tribute special For The Love of Paul O'Grady on Sunday, ITV will kick off the new and final run of For The Love of Dogs on Thursday, April 13.

When was Paul O'Grady's For The Love of Dogs filmed?

The new series was filmed last summer, with Paul once again joining the team at Battersea Dogs Home.

A synopsis for the first 30 minute episode of the new series teases: 'This week Paul falls head over heels with a gorgeous Newfoundland who needs major life changing surgery on her back legs. He meets a lab cross who’s totally obsessed with water and keeps flooding her kennel, and helps a terrified bichon frise, who was found wandering around a forest, become less scared of the world."
